I get your point but with an elite qb you can be more balanced. Teams haven't respected our passing game in a while. We need to sign a couple of elite running backs and the sky is the limit.

I'm sorry but what exactly have you seen that makes you think he is elite? Thus far I have seen nothing whatsoever that suggest he is elite. The one thing I did notice though during the Chattanooga game is he is quite a bit slower than than Danny Etling. If he is slower than Danny Etling, then how do you figure he will evade the rush of Alabama and other elite teams?

Probably because the class isn't finalized until February

Yeah, this is the fly in the future-is-bright ointment. Maybe there is validity to the argument that LSU is doing a great job evaluating talent, and that our current commitments are underrated.

Actually, we could bring in a lot less talent, but get good citizens who will stick around, and get numbers at every position group, and we'd have done better than we did with more talented classes in the past. We had several top 10 ranked classes that were actually bad because we failed to recruit one or two position groups. Both lines come to mind.

That d should be nasty next year with all these young guys having experience. Plus, supposedly the transfer dl is a beast. Assuming Lawrence and white don't pull a key, that d could be very good

Because I believe he gets rid of ball much faster and already sees the field well. Time will tell.

9-3, 8-4 at worst. Yes, they will improve.

He shouldn't be judged in 4 games after completely changing the offensive philosophy of the team.

That was his decision and absolutely should be judged by it, along with every decision that he makes as the HC.

If the offense was putting 50 on everyone with no penalties, he damn sure would be judged and getting major credit.

Yes, but having 19/20 commitments and still falling outside the top 10 at this juncture is far from promising.

Its downright scary. We'll end up outside the top 15 for the first time in how long? Really not looking great. Could we even go outside top 20?

Truth. That is supposed to be his super power.

If the season continues on its current path, we will lose more commits along the way. We are filled with 3 stars unlike any class we've seen since pre-Saban. Future does not look bright to me, at all.

I wouldn't be alarmed about recruiting class usually this early, but its nearly full, which is not the norm for us in September.

Hopefully we get Surtain and Terrace Marshall and a couple very talented big uglies. If we do that, I'll be step back from the ledge.

Brennan will be one of the best quarterbacks we've ever had. This year may be not what we expected or hoped for but by the end of the year the fans will be very excited about next year. Etling has been more than adequate qb but he even knows that MB is special and is the starter in the next few weeks. Canada will have to adjust his gameplan but he knows that it's worth it because of what MB brings to the table. This will only help recruiting. The key is to put the other pieces in place in the next 2 years while MB is still here.

Steve Ensminger is/was a savy football player, a all American level QB in MY humble opinion. One of the best post Mike Miley QB's of the 70'S....(Mike Miley a multi talented all american Tiger quarterback who led LSU in the 1973 campaign to a nationally televised game versus Alabama led by Paul 'bear' Bryant. On ABC in Baton Rouge, Tiger Stadium (both LSU, Alabama were undefeated) Alabama won 21 LSU 7.

Steve Ensminger was used by coach Charles McClendon in a duel starting QB system which featured Steve Ensminger & David Woodley as "co-starting quarterbacks!"

EXAMPLE: USC vs. LSU (1979)

Talk about it in February. Alabama is barely top 25 right now. I bet they end up top 3.
