Mark Stoops coached'em last year and they never made it back to the ship (OK they did tie for the Big XII ship), finished 70th in total defense, gave up 49 to West Virginia and 48 to Okla. St.
I agree with the sentiment, but I think maybe as fans we can over-estimate the effect a Coordinator makes as we assume they're accountable for their entire unit. I'm sure the OU defense has as many problems with talent as strategy.
