Go check out the game stats. Thanks to PP and a little luck, we "Outscored" the UNC intramural team. If the UNC receivers don't drop those two passes at the end, we aren't having this message board conversation because TD.com would have blown up from the massive nuclear meltdown.
BOISE.

Good points sOtiger and I'm not giving them to much credit I just respect what Peterson has done with that Program since taking over. He has taken a program that has been good for quiet a while now and made it even better than his predecessors. In my personal opinion I think he is a much better coach than Hawkins and Dirk Koetter were.

I'm more interested in the difference between VT and LSU. We are 1-0 and they are 0-1. There may be problems with LSU, but most look correctable. I will withhold bashing team and coaches until I see the next 2 games. I went to the game and the 2nd half was tough to watch. Yet, I saw bright spots throughout the game. If these guys start playing with some consistency, the sky is the limit. If they don't then it'll be a long year. But, personally I think LSU's record will depend more on what they do than what opponents they face...meaning we have the talent and ample coaching, they just need to play better to win most of their games. Bama may be the only team that exceeds us in the talent pool.

I think he means if you only see them once or twice a year it is hard to get an accurate picture of how disciplined they may, or may not, be. Kind of like when you thought they committed far less turnovers and penalties than LSU does.
I do agree with the thoughts on LSU....just sick of seeing all the Boise nonsense.

That's the problem. The problems have always been correctable it's just under Miles they never get corrected.

Yeah LSU sure does have superior coaching and organization under Miles huh?

Petersen did nothing to impress me tonight.

That's fine. So what does Les Miles do to impress you every time LSU plays?

Every great coach has something there known for, parcels-defense, Walsh-west coast offense, Meyer-spread/read offense, Saban-defense and disguised blitzing. For all you Miles fans on here what exactly is his arena of expertise? I dont' want to hear recruiting because a blind person could recruit in Louisiana right now. What is his specialty and more importantly do you see our team excel in that area?

Because Petersen doesn't do shite for me, I'm automatically pinned for Miles being the greatest coach ever for every snap, quarter, game, and season.

Are you kidding? He went in to hostile territory against a team he wasn't supose to beat, according to most experts. His team made a ton of mistakes and still won against a team from a BSC conference. He did it with far less talent, they did it as a team. If you were looking for flash you were probably disappointed.
I think your getting a little too much sun down there in the virgin islands. Peterson and Boise are very impressive to watch. There the underdog the little guy, there whats great about sports and America

Dang how much time do you have?
For starters in no particular order it would be: terrible communication skills when talking, team that beats itself constantly, undisciplined, blows leads, vanilla offense that doesn't come close to utilizing all the talent on the team on that side of the ball, terrible game manager, not a good game day coach, makes stupid decisions, allows teams to hang around in games instead of hammering the nails in the coffin, jezz the list is endless.

So you're agreeing that this is acceptable, right?

No, actually I'm not saying that at all. I just wanted to see what you would say about Miles or maybe name some coaches of who DO impress you.

And BTW Petersen looked like a bum everytime he was shown on the sidelines.
I guess the miles-haters will be okay with his lack of emotion too, right?
And how come he didn't light it into the guy who was flagged for the block in the back!?!? Why would he accept that kind of behavior??

This thread is about replacing Miles with Chris Petersen.
Posted on 9/7/10 at 12:49 am to Golfer
I can think of five coaches I'd rather before Petersen right now.

All outside Louisiana. He is a good recruiter. I will give him that 100 percent. But what good is recruiting if you can't further develop the players you have. Alabama and Florida can recruit worse than us and still have an advantage because they can develop personnel. We are doing a horrible job of developing talent. The number of guys drafted is going down and the guys arent making rosters. Charles Scott got cut from the cardinals today, I heard Big Herman Johnson got cut....
