re: The control catch rule started with the Dez Bryant play. I’ve been told that’s a catch.

QB throws ball, the receiver catches ball, ball never hits the ground, not a catch.

The top of the ball most definitely hit the ground. I don’t know what some of you are looking at. Tip of the ball hits the ground which is what jarred it loose.

It was an amazing effort by Brown but just unfortunately not a catch.

I said this in another thread. Some retard who never played a down made up the “hit the ground, ball comes loose, not a catch” rule. This MUST be changed in the offseason. Control, one foot down (or two steps), CATCH. What happens when you hit the ground shouldn’t mean shite, ESPECIALLY after crossing the goal line since the play is OVER at that point. Ridiculous rule!!

We all agree it's an awful rule.

It doesn’t matter the process was COMPLETE once the second foot stepped in bounds in the end zone.

Not by the rules. It is two feet or steps and a football move to be considered a catch or maintaining possession to the ground. I knew the instant they showed the replay it was going to be overturned and not because I assume the worst.

Anyone willing to stop using their LSU goggles should see it was the right call.

It sucks for such a great effort to end up as an incomplete, but by every measure of the rules, he did not make the catch, thus the TD plane rule is irrelevant.

Too many of you are trying to piece-meal a bunch of rules together to make this a bad call. It wasn’t.

Like those saying the ground didn’t help him. The tip of the ball clearly hits the ground first and makes the ball move. Even the image showing the ball between his hand, helmet and the ground means nothing as it was after the disqualifying part of the catch rule.

The rule is the call on the field is presumed correct unless clear video evidence to the contrary.

This wasn’t a team challenge. It was a booth challenge, meaning they can look at any aspect of the play and not what was “challenged” like in a team initiated challenge.

In the end, it was the right call and again, while it sucks, so was the sharp fumble. Sharp got two feet down and made a football move and the ball es moving before his shin made contact with the ground.

It’s hilarious how butt hurt some on here are with actually correctly applied rulings. Again, they suck for our team, but were the right decisions.
