The committee has just one purpose, Causing Chaos and Controversy. PERIOD!

To be very clear, I had LSU #1 the whole time. For good reason.
Judging by the way they ranked the last two weekends, they're intentions were to have LSU at #1 in the final rankings. Barring an LSU slip up, the committee's intent all along was to create a frenzied atmosphere.
This to me is just wrong. And the biggest victim in it all was OSU and their entire fan base. The committee put OSU #1 after a home win against then 8th ranked PSU. OSU went on to beat #13 Mich on the road and #8 Wisconsin. All were double digit wins. If anything, did they not solidify keeping the #1 ranking? Realistic fans would agree.
Here's the last two weeks rankings. Tell me what really changed? Logically, I can't justify LSU beating Arky, TAMU then crushing #4 Georgia was bigger than OSU winning 3 very tough games, by double digits, three weeks straight. Besides LSU/OSU switching, the only REAL change was a basis flip flop with Utah and Oregon.
Week 14----Week 15
1 OSU_____ LSU
2 LSU_____ OSU
3 Clem_____ Clem
4 GA______ Okla
5 Utah_____ GA
6 Okla_____ Oregon
7 Bay______ Bay
8 Wisc_____ Wisc
9 Fla_______ Fla
10 PSU____ PSU
11 Aub_____ Utah
12 Bama___ Aub
13 Ore_____ Bama
14 Mich____ ND
15 Mich____ ND
All the committee did was to make OSU and their base think they were better than the committee thought they ever were. Evil in my opinion. If you watched the reaction of the OSU team and their faithful after seeing they were dropped to #2, then you know exactly what saying.

Nah, just need to do away with the committee.

The fact there are no clearly defined metrics or criteria is a joke.
No one knows how to schedule or play because of the inconsistency of the whole process.
In the end it doesnt absolutely matter because the correct 4 teams got in.

They dropped LSU to #2 because they had made up their mind that they were putting Bama in at #4 if they beat Auburn and they didn't want a rematch in the first round. When Auburn upended those plans, they had to actually evaluate the teams fairly.

The committee is trying/tried to do the impossible:
Match the 'feelings' within the sports world and be able to defend it to everybody. They do that to try and minimize controversy, not to create it.
However, because the 'defend it' part, they unintentionally create by picking the narrative that fits the outcome.
So resume didn't matter, eye test did. Today resume matters again. That's their mistake. They picked a poison pill, defended it with 'complete team' and 'eye tests'. Now overwhelming evidence required them to revers course- to avoid controversy - and they look like waffling flavor of the day drunkards with the palsy.

Hey KosmoCramer good hearing from you. Congrats on the win. Do you agree with what I'm saying? It could've been. either OSU or LSU It was that close. But, I really feel the committee abused the entire OSU nation.

It was definitely close.
We need to go to full computers IMO.
Clearly define everything and take all these shenanigans out of it.

Agreed. I do know this, if the tables were reversed, the melt on here would be EPIC!

Evil in my opinion.

They are going to stack the teams based on what teams they think should or shouldnt play in the 1st round. Its impossible to try and make the humans objective.
Posted on 12/8/19 at 8:12 pm to MsGulfCoastTigerFan
Because Penn, Mich and Wiscy were all vastly overrated and the committee knew this and OSU struggled against at least Wiscy losing by double digits at one point.

Normally I would, but this shite needs to be fixed. In several threads I suggested we go to an average of CP and AP polls. More consistent than the current BS.
ETA They also screwed around with opponents of OSU and LSU to jive with their BS story. I'm sure Bama, Auburn, and Florida really appreciated that.

In addition to defining the metrics, there needs to be transparency. Everyone should know exactly who is voting, their affiliations, and how they are voting.
In the end there will always be bias when the human element is involved. What's crazy is that the same four teams that the BCS would've projected are usually the same four that the CFP committee has agreed on. I guess we could've stayed with the BCS.
The expectation of lucrative pay days is what's really killing CFB. The threat of bowl games being "devauled" is why it took so long to get of play-off and now its the reason for not having 8 teams. It's also why smaller schools aren;t easily included, they don't have the fanbase (travelers willing to spend lots of money).
