Concessions were awful. A bunch of kids standing around looking at you like you're not there to order anything.
They need to cut the DJ and the Screeching Blonde Chick. They were awful.
Sadly we didn't play Grambling State for the first game & get a little warmup to get some of the kinks out. LSU doesn't need to go to Florida/Texas/California for an opening game. Of course it's the money.

The biggest dent to the game atmosphere is television.
I agree with this statement but for entirely different reasons. TV has extended the games to the point where they are unbearable to watch from the stadium because of numerous TV timeouts.
I remember as a kid (early 80’s) seeing the final score and game highlights on the 10:00 news for games that started at 7:00. The game this past weekend started at 6:30 and went well past 10:30.
It’s almost as if the new rules were put into play to extend the duration of each TV timeout.

OP is dellusional. During the DiNardo years, campus would start seeing tailgaters setup their campers on Thursdays for big games. You have no perspective, child.

Early 90s when they went 5-6, 2-9, 2-9, 5-6 before 95?

I personally have a great time at my own residence. Neighbors are all big fans so it's essentially an opened-garage block party.

Agreed. I'm very tired by game time.

Depends on the game.
I rolled up to our spot around noon vs Grambling and a few others were in the process of getting it set up.
Arkansas will need to be a little earlier, and Auburn a little earlier than that if we have a 6pm or later kickoff.
Florida and A&M will be dependent upon how they season has gone and start times.

I’ll always say the same thing. Tickets can be had for cheap, people just don’t want to sit where they are.
Tv access and comfortability at home is the biggest deal. It’s an all day thing for us to attend from the northshore, left around noon last week and got home around midnight. Most people just don’t want to do that kind of grind or can’t with kids.

I am not understanding how tailgating affects the stadium atmosphere?
There’s been several threads today complaining about the game day atmosphere. I think because we played grambling, coming off a bad loss, there were much more locals and older lsu fans going to the game and tailgating than normal who haven’t been in a long time.
We played freaking Grambling, obviously the atmosphere is going to be lacking some, but good lord some of y’all can figure out ways to complain about anything.
If you think lsu’s game day atmosphere is getting worse, I can promise you it’s not. Some of y’all haven’t been to a game in a while and you’re remembering your past in a much better light than it actually was.
Lsu still has one of the best game day atmospheres in the country. If you don’t think so, then take a trip to another college town whose team is coming off a bad loss and also playing the worst team on their schedule.
It’s either that or some of y’all aren’t used to seeing that many black people tailgating

Wrong it’s called ticket prices, and the only people that can afford tickets now are the high rollers in the corporate tea crumpet crowd
I can assure you, that is not the case. They are buying the premium tickets. My section in the NEZ is full of good ole salt of the earth louisianaians
