The better Loss to have: Bama or Georgia

speaking as a fan, i want nothing more than to beat bama's arse.
That sets us up a date in the SECCG (assuming all else magically plays out). We'd have to win that game (playing georgia AGAIN) to get to playoffs, just to face a one loss Bama team again.
Or lose to Bama, beat Georgia and assumingly, our only loss is to the best team in the country (hope close game) and we still get invited a ticket to playoffs with some very impressive wins.

UGA is always the better loss bc it's out of division. Still control your own destiny.

If you have to have a loss, lose to UGA. You can still win the west if you win out. You lose to Bama it's over because they would need to lose twice.

To get where we want to go, the safest would be a loss to Georgia. In that case we'd still win the west and appear in SEC Champ. Then we would beat Georgia in a rematch.

If we have to split we obviously would want to beat Bama and win the west and then hopefully a rematch with UGA. If we won that we'd be in the playoff.

I don't think we need to be Alabama to get into the playoffs, we just need Washington to win the PAC 12 and some help in the ACC.

If not for a fluky Friday night game where Okie State lost on a last second field goal Bama would not have made it to the 'ship AKA they did not control their own destiny.
