Yes it does. You claim we had no championships before TAF. I remind you that we do in fact have a championship before TAF. Guess what that means. You're wrong.

No one is debating that. The whole TAF thing came about when someone suggested that the LSU football team would not exist without TAF.

It would not be competitive at all; however, it would exist.

A lot of people here cannot read worth a damn.

Then you can't just simply dismiss TAF.

Who said anything about dismissing it?

Hmmm, no kids around, huh?

How come my 9 year old daughter tells me every game things like " You know, some people don't say LSU-- they say 'kick their ....'" , etc

Thankfully I wasn't at the TN game. I'd have really not wanted to explain to my 9 year old why people where singing about sucking dicks in the stadium. When I have to start considering not going to games with my kids, that I may not be able to teach them the traditions of MY alma mater, and try to create more Tiger fans..... well, that just pisses me off.

Believe it or not, not only the guy next to you can hear it.....

FWIW

My 11 year old has gone to games with me since 4 and we have to make up things to disguise some of the language. We say and have said since she was little "mow their grass".....We still say it today...

No need for the language part, this is our team and we should handle it better

Thanks modern day students for ruining everything, but in this case, I am glad you did...because nothing is more idiotic than watching a bunch of white people act like they can dance.

since I haven't heard it in the student section, i doubt you would have heard it wherever you were

parenting should take care of this situation. I grew up in Tiger Stadium and I've turned out fine. The kick their arse chant has been around for a long time

No one is denying that TAF has done great things. Yes the football operations center, the upper decks and other renovations are
nice. But the idea that the football team wouldn't exist without TAF is just absurd. Like I said, we would still have a football team. We just wouldn't have the nice amenities and other nice things we've grown accustomed to.

LSU football would be about as extravagant as LSU quidditch if it were still a student-run sport.

and Tiger Stadium would be as loud as a quidditch game if there was no student section

'Kick their arse' I can deal with. I was just pointing out that kids notice it.

'Suck that dick' is a slightly larger challenge, from a parenting standpoint.

The State of Louisiana is the reason the University exists.
The students pay tuition to fund the educational aspects of it and receive the benefits of the University.
The Alumni and TAF fund any significant aspect of the football team.

Without TAF, the jerkoff students would be chanting their profanities in a cowfield.

This is a giant crock of bullshite. Pre-TAF, there was a Tiger Stadium and an LSU football team.
Of course. The State funded the building and additions to the Stadium. What percentage of state revenue, then or now, comes from 18-21 year old students versus everyone else?

Students are (obviously) a vital part of Tiger football. I'd bet the student section is the heart of the loudness in the stadium. But when they act trashy, it reflects on the whole operation.

Taking songs away, that have storied histories in the stadium is not "punishing the students."
No, I think it's avoiding the problem altogether in the only way they can.

If they wanted to "punish students" for cursing, then they'd directly do that - at least logic would dictate that is what they'd do.
How would they do that?? An army of cops stationed around the student section?

I'm sure it may be the loudest section, but that simply isn't true.

I have 2 roommates in the band. They insisted this was simply a rumor and they said they knew for a fact because they heard it directly from the band director. Neck will still be played

There's a long list of issues wrong with the student section these days.

I am a recent grad (Dec. 2009) and witnessed almost an overnight transformation while I was at LSU.

I have no problem with the "kick their arse" part or even the stuff on Tiger Rag. As many stated, the times have changed. I agree. Women aren't as easily offended anymore, because if they were, there'd be alot of frat-boys walking around ready to nut on a damn tree.

That said, this also isn't a greek thing only. I've ventured to the student section a couple times this year, and they say this to neck throughout that area.

The fact that they are trying to defend themselves is what is silly. Look, you were outed. Man up, admit that it's childish, and move on. For some reason though, these kids don't want to do that. They act like they are preserving some tradition and it's their "right" to do it.

Seems like the activists in free speach alley are rubbing off on some of these young pups.

Times have changed, yes. But that doesn't mean you act like a 10 year old in TS. You want to make it intimidating, how about the Greeks fill up their damn section for once and stay til the end of a game...and MAYBE even stand up. We have too many pussies that give up on their team...or leave.

Name me a college head coach that would work for about $400,000 a year... With TAF gone, you would have a football team the equivalent of NSU.

I'm so sorry that parents don't want to explain anything to their kids. I'm not by any means telling anyone how to parent, but people do realize that tiger stadium isn't a church. Most complaints that I have heard are "Wow, thanks students for ruining everything with bad language.."

Really? This is the argument? These are the same parents that let their lids listen to the awesome lyrics of the artists in the top 25 that say things like "Come on rude boy, boy;Can you get it up;Come here rude boy, boy;Is you big enough" And let's not forget the new hit single "F**K you by Cee Lo Green.

Don't forget that if you don't like the language in Tiger Stadium you can just as easily stay home.
