The 2010 Tigers - I AM a Believer, I DO Believe

I see the good points and the bad points in the play on the field and the decisions made in the game (by players and coaches).
I try to call it as I see it, and disregard whatever label like negaTiger or PosiTiger that might come my way for doing so.
I actually do not like sunshine-blowing and all-the-time bitching. There is zero merit in only saying the positive and ignoring reality, and even less for seeing the sky falling all the fricken time - they both suck.
When I inspect the roster, the trends and the schedule, I just come away feeling good about it all. I just do. Call it intuition perhaps.
That being said, I reviewed the game closely, and I see some more close games and some blowouts in the next 4 games, with the good guys coming out in favor.
Florida is very beatable this year. They REALLY missed Percy Harvin when he left, but Tebow was SO good at the option read, overall leadership and decision making and running, that they were still too much for the Tigers and others. But 2010 will be problematic for them without both. Demps and Moody are fast, but not nearly as special. We will beat Florida.
Aubbie will be tough, but I am a believer.
So, call me a homer or posiTiger or whatever, but I think we will be in the top 5-10 and undefeated when Bama rolls into Tiger Stadium in early November, and LSU will be as strong as they have been across the board since the 2007 season when they do.
I'll refrain from going beyond this point, but anything and everything is in scope for this team.
The Oline, a good enough JJ, a better RB and WR corp, and an exceptional TE (Dlo will be awesome) will put up plenty of points this year.
Throw in solid-to-possibly-awesome special teams and a great D (as the season unfolds), and it is off to the races.
Maybe it is just intuition, but in August 2007 I predicted for the first time ever that LSU would win it all. Like the Tigers, that prediction was part good and part lucky. Of course, these two are ALWAYS required for success.
I AM a Believer.

You are a realistiger.
I hope you are right but there are many things that still need to be fixed before we start calling bama to the mat.
I believe theTigers will be just fine this year.

*knock on wood
I do believe that while it's a huge cause of angst around here now, the fact that we were playing all our young guys early is going to allow us to reap enormous benefits down the stretch. Getting back Baker, Hatcher, and Peterson is going to be HUGE.

HUGE is almost an understatement.

Haven't heard anything on Peterson... and personally, given who we're playing, I'm anxious about rushing Baker back.

You've got every reason to believe. Taking the first half only of last week, we really looked like a special team. If we see a repeat of the first half and then a continued intensity and aggressive scheme for 60 minutes from this team, I think we are going to have one of the most memorable teams we've had. We are as capable as I've ever seen us at the skill positions. Just explosive.

Like the fast strike. The down side is only 6 first downs in the first half, with 2 of them the one-play possession TD's by Shep and Randle.
I think DLo Peterson, along with continued Oline improvement, will really accent the offensive formula. I think as these things come into the equation, the game will slow down for JJ and he will increase his effectiveness further, and the O will humm.

I think 10 wins is certainly possible if the offense improves. It needs to sustain drives, eat up some clock and move the chains much much more consistently. If this happens, it could be a very good year.
This team will go as far as the offense allows. I have a lot of confidence that the defense will improve.
