only 7 SEC games back then?

Check out the 1968 schedule - only four SEC games that year.

That was my final semester at LSU and in Tiger Band. It was a disappointing season ,especially the Miami arse kicking. I went to the Chick Fil A bowl game against Miami a few years back and it was sweet revenge.

Additionally, that Ohio State game was one of the biggest Fails ever for LSU. It was nearly as bad as the Bama game last season.

Jonathan Gray looks to the left and the right while at urinals that don't have separation walls.

I was thinking of his brother Brian, who was the WR, but it looks like both left in '87.

Of course, it could easily be argued that the Miami game was the official beginning of the wheels coming off the program.

No way. The crazy blown lead against the worst team that Ohio State has been fielded since the early 1950s was a signal that something was going wrong...

I've got a good friend, Citadel alum, that lives his college football vicariously through us, I can't remember the sequence, whether we crushed UM, then ND in bowl games, but he made the comment, LSU is now my favorite college football team, in two years they have completely dismantled two of the most despised schools in all of college sports, and thrown their football programs into complete disarray

You never want to win another NC do you?

Sadly, the mentality of fans today is to schedule horrible (maybe one "OK" team) OOC opponents; (For LSU fans) bitch and moan about getting UF off the schedule and hope to play Vandy,UK, Mizzou from the East) and then do enough with the West opponents to play in the NC game.

Don't get me wrong, I understand in today's CFB undefeated is undefeated. However, I would personally rather watch the "big boys" not be afraid to step outside their conferences more often to play one another.

Toughest schedule I can ever remember.

Opening with A&M was a good start, along with destroying UT in Knoxville.

Tennessee, Ohio State, and Florida were back to back to back road games. Lose 2/3 and then we have to play the 2nd best team on the schedule in Auburn at home just to stay alive and out of Independence-like bowls. I challenge people to watch that game minus the dramatic earthquake comeback and enjoy it. That Auburn d was stingy!

Bama FG kicker missed last second FG by a foot (Doyle?) and we pulled that one out. Greg Jackson had a late INT down on the goal line that he ran back 100 yards to put away State.

Season could have been much worse than 8-4 and co-SEC champs. Good pull, Y.A.

Was at that game, too. OSU knows how to split up their visiting team tickets -- there were 2 small slivers of LSU fans: one in the lower bowl end zone & the other in the upper deck at the opposite end of the field.

Auburn finished #8 in the final AP poll. They were the only SEC team in the top 10. My, how times have changed.

Irvin was #47. I believe it was Brian Blades. I can't remember specific taunters because the whole damn team did it.

Probably the most boring but greatest games that I ever witnessed. I realize that doesn't make much sense.
