We cut losses by roughly 2/3, and doubled wins.

Football is more than merely wins and losses, but wins and losses is the single most objective factor of success over the long haul.

I'm not sure where most of these neurotic nervous-nellies came from who are cluttering up this board with bitching and moaning. My guess is they are mostly bandwagonners from 2003 and 2007.

But hey, there is not doubt this bunch would be wanting to run Saban out of town even more, if they were consistent.

LSU football did not start in 1990. that 10 stretch is the worse in my lifetime and perhaps the history of the program. i understand where you're coming from and i agree miles is a good coach. this is one bitter loss against a hated opponent and then losing miller and kiel after two of the states biggest propects signing with alabama is certainly a cause for concern. while i'm not a chicken little, i am concerned. miles is a warrior and we need to overcome these recent setbacks. i think we will.

Is it seriously bitching to expect near perfection and multiple championships when you're considered one of the elite programs and pay your coach accordingly?

Not to sound ungrateful, I do remember those days, but they're gone. To use them as a comparison is equal to accepting mediocrity.

I just have this feeling that once again, although the big picture tells otherwise, the wheels are getting a bit wobbly. Not unusual given Miles' ability to have one of these each season, just wish it would have come earlier.

Saban has this problem as well:

UAB 2000

Ole Miss 2001

Auburn, Alabama and Texas 2002

Florida 2003

UGA 2004

Miles actually had a year without 1 of "those" games, 2006 - losing 2 games by a combined 18 points @ Auburn and @ Florida (BCS championship year) is probably acceptable under the circumstances.

I agree with what you're saying, but this season was like going to bed with Halle Berry and waking up with Whoopi Goldberg. That last game

There were a couple a seasons in there where you did not see them on TV at all. Hard to believe in this day and age but LSU was so bad they were never on.

I don't remember us ever not playing on TV.

Absolutely not. This staff is one of the highest paid in the country which makes the expectation of excellence completely warranted. That was a piss poor performance from our coaching staff in the BCS game and as the tiger fanbase we have a right and responsibility to point that out. My problem is with the sky is falling mentality that followed the criticism of ONE bad game this year. I think that totally disregarding the incredible season we had because of one awful coaching performance hurts our program and makes the supposed fans making these statements wreak of queer. Most of the posters who are pushing the "program is in trouble" point of view are the ones who claimed this team the best college football team of all time prior to the BCS game, which was an equally retarded position.
