What on earth...”his platform”?

What kind of platform does he imagine that he has if he’s not out there running routes and catching passes?

Football and school is quite literally the most worthwhile thing he could be doing right now, and I’m pretty sure that for him, the two go hand in hand.

Yep and he's very good at it and better than most, but life and inequality in life is what he's speaking of and he understands that life is bigger than a sport. His intelligence can make him a living as well.
