I am a LSU alum/fan, but I'm not going to pass on a profitable situation because of sentimentality. I've bet on Texas in each of the first two games, +135 and +130, and I will be on Texas again tonight at +120. I also bet Texas +150 to win the series vs LSU. Here's why...
Both full season and recency weighted metrics have this series as a virtual coinflip, Texas a very slight favorite mitigated by LSU's excellence v RHP.
LSU was very fortunate to win game one. Simple run expectation -- 5 HR's equates to approx 8.9 runs in a college game. Coleman was lucky that all of his gopher balls occurred with nobody on base. And even that doesn't really matter in the context of my broader point, which is two even teams are engaging in what amounts to a series of coinflips, and I'd never lay juice on an even prop.
Texas won game two, and there's no need for explanation. Not only did Jungmann pitched a gem, he also allowed the tired bullpen of UT to rest in preparation for game three.
For those wondering, my odds for each game this series were (and still are tonight):
Tex -110
LSU -110
Over/under = 12 runs

no it wasn't. I honestly thought I say a "y" in the man's name. My bad, names are important.
Mr. Ranaudo, please forgive me and may you pitch the game of your college career to this point tonight.

I hope you lose a ton of money.
BTW, I read all that shite you wrote and you pretty much said it was a coin flip, but you put your money on Texas.

Hope all you want but ignoring the numbers is a long-term losing prop. Sports handicapping is supplemental income to me, as is stock trading.
For the record, I will be rooting for LSU tonight, just like I do every time they take the field.

Right because of the odds offered by sportsbooks, that is why I included the odds I got on each bet.
If someone walked up to you and said "let's flip this coin. Tails, you win a dollar. Heads, you lose .90 cents." Are you going to pass up that offer?

quote:That is a stupid assessment looking at such a small sample. We had more hits in game 1 and more hits in clutch situations and with runners in scoring position. We also have a much higher batting avg and slugging percentage this year. They hit much better than us last night but saying a blanket statement that their hitters are simply better than ours shows how little you either pay attention to baseball or actually know.
Yes, based on these two games, they do.

Don't you feel like a dirty pimp, earning his money by using LSU as your ho?

Again, the statement was based solely on viewing these two games. Forget the rest of the year. The UT DH had 0(zero) HRs coming into the CWS. He has three against Tiger pitching. How does that factory into your sweeping knowledge of the game of baseball?
Smooth your feathers and get back to me when you can view it without being "emotional".
