Actually I'm praying that Geno, Noel, and Coach Stew will all be carried off the field in celebration after we win.

All I have to say is, watch the second half of the MSU game. Your QB has plenty of starts, but he is still young. He had better be getting rid of the ball quickly. Oh, and see the PP highlights for what happens when you think you can pick on him in 1 on 1 coverage with a small receiver.

Even if he does get rid of the ball quick to avoid sacks, you will get yards, but points in the red zone are hard to come by against LSU's D. Last year's defense gave up tons of yards and was middle of the pack statistically, except in points. Teams like UF and Bama moved inside the 20s, but had a very hard time getting the ball in the end zone. Except for the 4th quarter of the UNC game, this year's D is doing a much better job of keeping the opposing offense's yards down and getting to the QB, which were the 2 main weaknesses last year.

I expect a good game, but I absolutely do not expect WVU to rack up 400 yards of offense. If you think they will, you will be sorely disappointed on Saturday. I think you will be doing well to get over 300. Our last two opponents have tried to duplicate the 200 yards of big play passes that UNC hit us for in week one, and all they ended up with were dead drives, injured QBs, and 5 picks. Those week one mistakes, which were all made by the younger guys in the secondary, have been fixed and this group is really rolling right now. Add to that a fast D Line that is keeping the run in check, and you have a long, tough day ahead.

I'm saying that it is impossible for WVU to win. I'm just saying that they will probably have to get up early and grind it out on the ground to do it. As good as Noel Devine is, is he really that type of back? Can the WVU offense win without tons of big plays? Neither Bama or UF could get up big early against LSU in Tiger Stadium last year, with undeniably better talent than WVU on both sides of the ball. Can WVU? We will see on Saturday.

WVU is 5-1 against the last 6 SEC teams they've played.

1-0 Georgia
1-0 Ole Miss
2-0 Miss St
1-1 Auburn
??? LSU

WVU might get knocked out on Sat...who knows? But we've more than held our own against SEC competition. Would have beat Auburn at Auburn last year except for meltdown and turnovers in 2nd half.

QB - WVU
RB - WVU

Everything else, LSU has a favorable edge.
I don't know if I would give WVU the edge at RB. You have to factor in the fact that our slot back gets as many carries as a back-up RB. In our first 3 games... Ridley, Shep and Blue have combined for 82 carries for 533 yards. That's a 6.5 yards per carry average for the 3 guys that run the ball for LSU. In addition, two of them have TD runs from 30+ yards out so they all have the speed to take it to the house.

I didnt filter through the 16 pages of dick measuring....

My father went to WVU, ive watched a lot of their games a kid and when I was in college. I am pretty familiar with their team, so I can be somewhat neutral.

Their defense is actually pretty good, you cant judge them on that Marshall game. The HC of Marshall was a big part in making WVUs play book when he was still there. A lot of people actually wanted him as HC. He knew the cadences, snap counts etc. etc. That said they still shouldnt have needed a comeback to win, its Marshall their talent level is pretty terrible.

LSUs D > WVU, but were not going to just walk the ball between the tackles for 250 yards.

They have speed with Tavon Austin and Devine. Jock Sanders is their go to guy, hes a quick WR with really good speed and some ups. All of them are undersized and really quick, making tackles in space is going to be more important than usual with those 3 guys. Everyone knows Devine is good and can bust one at anytime....

Collectively the speed isnt even close though, LSUs overall team speed on O and D is superior to WVU.

Geno Smith is pretty good, but hes a freshmen. All his stats and recruiting bullshite is out the window.

Hes coming into one of the most hostile and loud environments in the country, against the best defense hes seen in his life. If he doesnt turn the ball over someone can kick me in the dick and put the video on you tube.

Bottom line is overall LSU is a better team and our defense should force some TOs, but WVU isnt as bad as a lot of you want to believe.
