Maybe I misread your post, but I think it's pretty fairly implied.

Yes you did misread it, as it's not even slightly implied. I very clearly stated my exact rationale - LSU will lose badly either way, so I'd rather it not be to Tebow so that Miles and the staff feel some heat.

Although I agree that Les had some perceived miscues during the last game, I will say that I don't blame it all on Les. And yeah, I did go apeshit crazy watching the clock run down....

However, we do need the players to come out and play to the level they are capable of playing. I would also say that Les might even agree that he had not done a stellar job in "coaching them up".

So it's more than possible to lose the games that we won, but completely impossible to win the games we lost?

No, not completely impossible, just less likely.

I don't hate LSU. Is this one of those threads when the initiator starts the mind frick on everyone else?

Miles' utter lack of incompetence managing an end of half or end of game scenario should be painfully obvious to anyone that's been paying attention.

Look, I've mentioned Miles' positives - and there are some huge ones. I don't see why people are so defensive when evaluating his negatives. They are what they are.

"Miles' utter lack of incompetence"

So, you're saying he is competent?

bullshite. You said something that was slightly less than glowingly positive about Miles.

So you don't have any actual way to back up that earlier statement. Got it. Flame on.

Hey, I enjoy sparring as much as the next guy, but have to go.

Seriously, get that bottle for tomorrow, and enjoy the game!

He lines up on with no time outs left to pick up a first down in a 2- TE set. He doesn't get it. They are out of field goal range. Options are to punt or to throw a Hail Mary. He doesn't have the personnel on the field to throw a Hail Mary.

The decision to make either call above the other takes time. The act of getting the right personnel on the field takes time. Miles had it in his mind that his players were going to pick up the first down and punch the ball into the endzone.

If you can fault him for anything on that drive, it's for having too much faith in his players. Maybe you should just blast the offensive line for getting 0 penetration on third and short.

FWIW I think Miles does suck at clock management and end of game decisions. Obviously he screwed the pooch at halftime against UGA and against Auburn in 07. It's inexcusable.

But I also most people overestimate how important that is to being a "good coach." It's the most visible coaching decision you make, so people will judge you on it. But in coaching, like anything else, 95% of the work is behind the scenes.

Hail Mary = 4 wide receiver set

At the time, we had two tight ends on the field. So unless you wanted to see two TEs and two RBs running down the field instead of 4 WRs... it was going to take time to get the right personnel on the field.

Well, genius, why don't you suit up and tell Les you'll be taking over tomorrow night. Dumbass.

And whose alter are you anyway?

Of course I saw that and they played very well in opening running lanes all night. Except for that play. Sick or no, you can't place the blame on anyone but the offensive line for not picking up a first down on third and inches.
