No. It's not. But whatever. With only one game against one common opponent, it's highly unreliable, but not completely worthless. If Team A plays five teams and beats them all 50-0, and Team B plays the same five teams and loses to all of them 50-0, are you seriously suggesting you'd have no idea who would win when Team A and Team B play?

Yea, if LSU beats Fla, Uga, A&M, and Bama the voters will care that TCU lost to TT.

They might if Clemson goes undefeated. Or if LSU doesn't beat all those teams and is sitting on one loss trying to get into the BCSCG. Voters remember their early impressions. Beating the shite out of VTech in the 2nd week of the season got LSU into the 2007 NC game. The fact that they went on to go 11-2, won the ACC and finished #3 only helped.

Saying 2/3rds of the BCS formula is meaningless

I'm sorry, you must be illiterate because I never said it was meaningless I said it was "useless at this POINT". If you win out then it doesn't matter you dense frick.

New QB just doubled the old QBs first downs.

Should have put Webb in 4 possessions ago. Freshman walkon was rattled.

But that's only IF YOU WIN OUT. You don't always win out. Sometimes you lose a game and still have a chance to get in. Sometimes more than two teams win out. Early positioning in the polls has a heavy influence on later positioning. If we had to rely on going undefeated, we wouldn't have won either of our BCS titles, and Bama wouldn't have won the last two. Perceptions of voters, highly influenced by early impresssions, makes the difference more often than not.
