Investing lump sum now over 30 years will far exceed whatever nonsense you just posted

Well no shite. But the discussion was related to taxable income. To avoid the higher tax rate, he would need to defer over time to lessen the tax burden. Which would be stupid. Which is what I said in my post but may have been misinterpreted due to my typo.

That would still be $400k in annual income. He's paying max tax rate on that still.

Yeah, I underestimated the time frame. And you are right, deferring would be asinine at his age. I am by no means a tax accountant, but I have paid a shite ton of personal and corporate taxes over my lifetime to have a working knowledge of the basic frickery involved and I can not think of any possible scenario he will not get slammed in taxes and agent/lawyer fees mentioned in a previous post that will leave him with more than half of his gross NIL income.

I'm sure it will be distributed to him after performing "duties" such as appearances or autograph signings.

It 100% definitely will. I know for a fact from as close a resource possible to Gordon that the players making way less like $3k per month during football season had to do this. Show up to Gordon bike give away, autographs, stuff at Gordon's office, and make instagram posts about it.

A few of the players make the instagram post, then after getting money, delete it. They then didn't get their payment for the next month.
