8 current wins isn't exactly "sucks". We may not be getting the most out of our talent, but it hasn't dropped to suck levels. Though it does suck to play like we have been playing.

I think w's and l's is a part of talent evaluation. We're sitting at 10 wins right now and this thread isn't even here.

not really, not always....
you could be winning and yet not developing talent to its potential.

OK, but the ones we have gotten, regardless of position..WHY are we not seeing results...
the obvious answer is coaching, but that's not what I am after....
are we just taking the RATINGS published as FACTS and going after those kids??
this would make a coach look like a great recruiter,
but
is that coach a GOOD EVALUATOR of the talent.
Are we looking beyond the published rating as to how a player would play in our system, or just mere collecting "rating" stars..that my question
if we are merely collecting "rating stars" that would answer a lot....
since
a)they may not be as good as rated
b)not good for our system
if we are looking further and still not developing talent,
then there are only 3 choices:
a)we evaluated prospects poorly
b)we develop players poorly
c) a combination of the 2

ULMtiger - Are you saying LaFell hasnt been a bust when he drops 2-4 passes per game? What kind of talent is that? And TT almost the same and then he lines up wrong and we get penalized, or he runs the wrong route and we get sacked or an interception.
I'd hate to see someone play at receiver without talent.

Sure it is. I didn't say it was the ONLY part of talent evaluation but when you win with the guys you recruited out of high school it obviously is a part of the puzzle.
