i think the parade ground is your best bet, but you're going to have to go inwards not to deal with BTs

The old front nine has plenty of space.

Putting your shite up out 3 ockl on a FRI afternoon and not showing up til 2-3-4 hrs before kickoff on SAT is bullshite.
Agree whole-heartedly. I will be in my same spot for the 7th year this season. Last year for some craptastic non-SEC game, someone put their shite on my spot Friday evening. When I showed up at 6 AM Saturday morning with my setup, I simply moved their shite about 10-20 feet away from my shite. By the time they showed up, I had already cooked armadillo eggs, fried a turkey, and was on my 5th or 6th beer (which is a lot, as I don't start drinking until 10 am).
If you are gonna be ballsy enough to put your shite out the day before, without knowing whether or not you are "squatting," be ballsy enough to stay with your setup or get there at the buttcrack of dawn.

This is simple,,
GROUP ONE
If you have a fair amount of people, collect taligating dues, have lots of food and drink and responsiblities of making the taligate go then your likely to side with me.
GROUP TWO
If you dont have any responsibilities on game day other than to show your arse up(which is the majority of people).. then you'll probably tend to side with SFP.
Like I said earlier, If you are in group #2...I wouldnt expect you to understand.
At times Its a fuking hassel.

Well, we can agree to disagree.
If you have those huge responsibilities to so many people, you should be the first one to set up in your favorite spot.
Because no matter how many people you feed and how much money you spend, it is still first come, first serve.
I think that is very simple but you don't seem to get that.
We don't feed a large group for every game, but when we do, we don't charge them. And if we did, we still wouldn't be entitled to our favorite spots. We don't encroach on anyone's setup if they were there before us.
We are not entitled to our favorite spots, no matter what! I'm glad the majority of the fans understand that.
You, sir, are wrong about your entitlements.

No, but neither does the chair or tent frame that somebody else left. Also, possession is nine tenths of the law, so if I'm there at 6 am to set up, and you aren't, I'm gonna possess your chairs the frick out of my way.

group one = people who believe the rules don't apply to them b/c they spend money

they already possessed this spot by marking it off
they were there first. you have no right to control their property

Let me pose this question...
There's a group that tailgates near us for each game. "Our spot" is more desirable. They know we tailgate in that spot, as do I with their location about 100 feet from us.
Is it a dick move for them to come setup in our typical location? This occurred once during the 2007 season. I follow the rules and don't setup until 4:30pm and they had their stuff there by lunchtime Friday.

Gotta agree with SloPro on this one.
Good point:
BT, I understand your concern, but if you move other people's stuff, YOU'RE starting the confrontation rather than following etiquette. It doesn't matter if they put their stuff there on Friday and slept there or if they didn't show up AT ALL, if they put their stuff there, then it is claimed. End of story. If someone puts their jacket on a chair, I don't move the jacket and sit down.

Exactly what BT believes.
We spend lots of money every year. We have been tailgating since 1988 and still don't feel entitled to a certain spot.
It is tiring and a hassle to set up a large tailgate and contact everyone every week to let them know exactly where you are that week.....but we do it.
But still, I don't feel entitled.
I can't wait until our kids take over the tailgating duties! Can't be a season too soon.

gees, lady its not that big of a deal.
Apparently youve taken someone's spot before and got your arse ate out for it.
Id be pissed too.

But what you don't get is that someone was there before you! He set up the day before you did.

Nothing against you SFP, but I have to agree with BT in this debate.

I would also like to say that if I show up at 6am and someone is on "my spot" and all set up and barbecuing and drinkin' shooters, well then, I'm SOL--I get that.
Also, it's not like this happens on a weekly basis. It's only happened to me once in 6 seasons. I usually set up on Fridays for HUGE games and the first game of the year, but it's usually not necessary for the OOC games. The times I've seen it happen to me or other people, it was usually done by amateurs who don't know that me and my group have been there for years.
