most people that have a passion for "their spot" is because....they have fun there, close to bathrooms maybe, ease of leaving game, people they have been around for years. i know i dread to show up before dawn to find someone parked a
car inbetween my tents. now i have to deal with this and adjust for this. these people will not be welcomed. now i have to wait for them to stroll up at [who knows what time before i can start to have fun]. i had this happen once in about 10 years and i still worry about it. don't get me wrong i see new groups every year around us, that's part of the fun to have new friends.
it's an art, social event, hell i host a party
for 6-8 weekends a year for 12 hours.
it's almost a job..that i love...

Chackbay, this isn't to call you out, but your post is a prime example. If you want a guaranteed spot that's YOURS for every game, then stay at home and tailgate.
I, like you, have things I don't look forward to at tailgates. One thing I don't look forward to is some prick coming up to me telling me it's his spot.

Actually I can sell a few spots to people so they can tell any trespasser it is their spot, bought, and paid for. I can even give you a receipt you can keep to show doubters that you paid for it. I only have a few choice spots avilable, but they're at bargain basement prices.

i have been in the same "spot" for years, but as long as we go on friday to pre-setup were alright. We do have to discuss tailgating 101 with the rent-a-cops every game [never the same ones]. never really have a problem..unless it rains alot
Goodtimes, i have a few wildcats that party with me.

The only jerkoff on this board is the guy who spent the better part of 12 pages whining about someone taking his piece of "dirt" that he doesn't even own.

It is ever really worth getting into a fight because someone moved your stuff. Granted no one wants to be a pussy, but sometimes you just have to accept the fact that their are a lot of morons in this world.
This whole thread reminds me of signs that a group of tailgaters puts up that says "respect the tradition" as if to reserve their spots. If you have bodies their to hold your spot, fine. If not, see ya later tradition. Don't get me wrong, I would never move people stuff, but I have no respect for people who reserve spots by plopping their stuff down and going back home.

And if they cal security, you'll have to deal with them. Just for argument sake, let's say someone beats you there and is there in person?
AAlso, any amount of money you invest or years going to the spot has zero bearing on the spot. What has bearing is who is there first. Now I am not touting people scouting out spots and purposefully taking spots they know the same folks set up in. But if someone is there looking for an open spot, sees it, then takes it---it is theirs. Plain and simple.

You spent so much time belly aching over the course of a 24 hour period that it was impossible to get a word in edge wise.

You said a mouthful:
1) I would never move people stuff - my exact point, but BT feels otherwise
2) I have no respect for people who reserve spots by plopping their stuff down and going back home - I guess you don't respect 95% of the tailgaters

If LSU doesn't have an official policy on tail gate spots, then it's first come first serve in my opinion. I couldn't care less if you're a 10-year tailgater or how many people r with u. Now, if we can make a polite agreement to maybe share the spot for the day, then I'm good with that cuz I dont like being rude if I can avoid it. We're all there to have fun. Just don't come up to me and tell me to move cuz it's your spot. 10-year vet or not.
Posted on 4/22/09 at 2:45 pm to Suck Out West
how would someone know if it was your spot or not anyway? it seems like you would be getting all mad at them for know reason
Posted on 4/22/09 at 3:11 pm to tigeraj22
exactly. It's usually just 3 of us and we sit in the bed of our pick up truck with a cooler & some chairs. No big deal with us. We set the stereo on the roof and listen to tunes while pounding beers & brats so we dont need that much space.

actually if you go back and read the thread youll notice i ever said anything about physical force,.. not the first time.... you on the other hand in your 3-4 posts on this matter is the one that proclaims you may have to "beat someones arse, b/c your just that type of guy I am"
Truth be told I have been very diplomatic about this whole thing and even went as far to say if youll treat people nice and not be a dickhead about it they will more than likely be cool about themselves.
Do us a favor.... stay in TX, watch LSU games at a bar or at your house.
I dont even know you but after your 3 shitty posts, it's apparent what a huge DOUCHEBAG you can be.

most of the "PROfessional" tailgaters will never get beat out on a "first come, first serve" spot. they know the rules, and take advantage of
them. also the common Joe doesn't want to be drowned out by some very serious dj equipment
my 2 cents is worth zero..

Wow! What an entertaining thread.
I don't post much, so feel free to try and discredit me for that reason.
My observations are:
1) You've got a turf war over land that all parties acknowledge they don't own.
2) If the tailgaiting has become bigger than the game/team/school, aren't you a POSER?
3) Shouldn't you want to meet new Tiger fans while tailgaiting? Isn't that how your party grew to begin with?
4) BT, you've really looked like a total jerk through this thread and good luck keeping 'your' spot after posting that pic.
BTW, the war is over, we lost, get over it. Like it or not the Stars and Bars has become synonymous with Racism (especially with an effigy begin 'hung' in the background). And if you don't get that...you are a bigger idiot than you've made yourself to be.
Don't disgrace LSU by flying that flag. We're not Ole Piss!
