Tailgate Setup

This is going to be my first time setting up for tailgating and on top of that. This is going to be a huge game. Me and my friends want to setup a tent on the parade grounds for tailgating. When do you guys think I should go on campus and set it up?

Ok im just going to take off of work at noon on Friday. Head to the parade grounds and setup my stuff.. If I do that, will I actually have a chance getting a spot??

I have been tailgating for years.. But this is my first time setting up a tailgate. Picked this game because I have tons of friends that have been wanting to do it for this game and we all said in the off-season that we would

IMO, don't try and get there early to set up.
You certainly can, but its kind of a dick move if you steal someones spot. Unless of course you plan on staying out there with your stuff until game time.
I am not advocating people trashing your stuff, but this is one reson it happens.
If you are just a little considerate, and don't try to take the best spot for your first game, you'll still end up with something decent and everybody wins.

Let me rephrase.
It is a good idea to get there early, just don't try to be the first and stake your claim and go home

wait until saturday morning so you don't jack the spot of someone who has been out there all year

I agree with this
Get out there at like 7 or 8 on Saturday and you'll be able to find a spot. It won't be ideal, but there will be room.
Then this week, see where the open spots are. Make friends in the area and you'll know where you can set up on friday before the auburn game.

Then they should stay out there all year long if they want the same spot. We have been tailgating for 15 years on Nicholson. "Our" spot can fluctuate 100 yards if someone gets there earlier. So what. Get to where ever you want when the time is allowed for you to set up there. If you get there first, it's yours. First come first served. PERIOD.

I'm not worried about my spot, I'm just saying I would be pretty pissed if someone just decided to show up for the Florida game and had taken my tailgate spot.

Don't get me wrong, it is aggravating, but our group takes the stance, well we should have gotten here earlier. Why have a hissy and ruin your day becasue you have to move a few yards over?
