I think Les is better at X's and O's than people give him credit for. It's just Saban is a better X and O coach. Then again, who really is a better X and O coach than Saban? I don't think anybody is, so when it is framed that way Les isn't too far behind. Monday night showed that Saban is still superior all in all, albeit not egregiously superior.

To answer the thread title; No, you can't just wing it and stumble upon 10 wins, even if you have great talent. That talent needs to be assembled and groomed and taught the intricacies of how to play each position. All of this makes sense in my mind but yall don't have to agree with it and that's totally understandable.

Monday morning Les was considered a top notch coach. One bad night doesn't change that. Booby H has lot longer history of being a douche and Monday night proved that to be true and just to be safe he went around today and made sure you knew he was and still is a douche.

I think the statement is true BUT we have to remind ourselves that these are Les's recruits... so it's not like Miles has had very little impact on success.
