Admittedly, this may be wishful thinking....

I think JJ will play bad enough for Mett to see the field early in the season if not against Oregon. Once that takes place, JJ is the backup but still plays much like JL did last year. I just don't see JJ learning to read defenses, make quick decisions and becoming the leader of the team over the offseason.

JJs biggest issue IMO is his propensity to blame his teammates for his play, indication of his lack of leadership. He may not lose the job due to play, it could very easily be his inability to be a strong leader.

We don't know if Mett possesses those qualities yet but we do know JJ doesn't.

So, False. All it will take is for Mett to see the field.

Les probably admires JJ for his toughness and I do too. I've never seen a QB take the kind of beating he did from Fairley and the Auburn Defence and keep on ticking. JJ's as tough as hell and he's the only QB who can run it 80 yards w/out getting caught from behind as he demonstrated against Tenn.

There is a reson Mett didn't start for UGA in 09. Until he demonstrates he can play against SEC defences and keep his composure he is just another camp arm with a scholly.

We only have 3 scholly QBs on the roster. Let's be glad we have JL for depth and good character and that apparently none of out QBs have off the field problems.

Where have you seen this? If he's making comments throwing his teammates under the bus, I'd like to see them.

Miles is like Inspector Clouseau - he wins despite himself. If the QB was 3'5" and slow as a turtle but won, Miles would keep Jesus Christ on the bench.

Jefferson was outplayed by a wide margin in 2 games last year and was still the starting QB in the following games

more then 2...im sorry, but he would have to look like joe montana for at least 5 games before i ever even think about believing in that guy...

jesus christ do you even watch games? i cant count the number of times he's looked and yelled at WR's for something and he threw a terrible ball...maybe you should look back and re-read some of the things that TT said about him...

LSU would have to dump 2 with his horrible play before anything is done to rectify the situation.

I think that if Jefferson plays the way he did towards the end of last season, especially the aTm game, then it will be tough for anyone to beat him out. If he is playing at that level and LSU loses a game, I think he remains the starter. What it comes down to is that it is an open competition and the best man will end up starting., but it is hard to beat out 3 years of game experience.

False. Les will do what he did last year. Let him go till he starts sucking then put in whoever he thinks can save the game. He won't lose a game to make that decisions.

Well, I'm not a lipreader so I don't know what he's yelling. I'm also not in the huddle so I don't know what the playcall was and whether the WR was on the right route or the right read or not. But apparently you do know all that . . .

Such as? You can provide the link to where Toliver said that Jefferson blames his teammates for his own mistakes?

False.

I still think Jefferson is the starting QB going into the season. But remember Miles still played Lee at points last year when LSU was undefeated. The only problem is that Miles didn't exactly give Lee a real chance to grab the starting job. I understand he had his reasons, but I really do think that if JJ stinks it up again, and another QB completley outperforms him, whether it's Lee or Mett, they will start and it will not take losing a game to make the change.

The key thing is that another QB has to completley outperform JJ. Lee had his good moments, but he did nothing spectacular to earn the starting job

Really?

Joe cox was the QB in 09 along with mett not even being on the team in 09. He was recruited in 09 and got kicked off in april of 2010 before that season any started...so yes their are some reasons he was not the starter in 09 but that def is not one of them.

He also actually looked more impressive in the spring game than murray did

That was the very first play of the game!! and then he went 3-10 with 2 Interceptions the rest of the game...Tenn is a horrible ex to use...then when in the 4th qtr with time whinding down and the fumble debacle his first reaction is to lay on the ball!!
