Yep, reminded me of 2011 and Brad Wing. He did a helluva job. Definitely affected our offense on more than 1 possession. And of course, the safety.

On a related note...
I'm not a Saban worshipper, or Bama fan, but I wish we'd copy something he does in those situations. Often he plays the numbers there; and the numbers say it's unlikely you will score on that drive. Most of the time you don't even flip the field position back.

So why not use one of your 3 plays to take a deep shot. Preferably 1st down knowing the LBs are going to be aggressive. Many times they'll use the TE up the seam just because of the LBs. It works.

When you're taking the snap in the 3-4 yard line, and your QB has to have the time to let the play develop you really can't do that shite with an O-line like ours

Apparently it is. I had the impression it "wasn't good", but atrocious I wanted to check...

We are 124th in punt returns (24.5 yds/ret avg by opponent)
Not even in top 100 for punt average

Through 4 games syracuse has allowed 6 return yards (total) and avg 46.3 yds/punt (9th)

Completely agree.

And to be fair, that's exactly what we did on the Drake bomb.

Not off of a punt, but pinned at the 13 out of the halftime kickoff.

Bombs away.

It was concerning that Chark never made an adjustment during the game. He hurt us.

Chark was as much responsible for out continued poor field position as their punter. I hope we can bring in a new punter and punt returner for next season.

And he's not even from down under.

So why can a basketball school with a below average football program land an NFL caliber punter and we've had garbage since Wing left?
