you can voice your opinion here, there and all you want. there are plenty of venues to do that. Hell, I do it on here all the time.
But booing the team to their face on national TV crosses a line that I believe is not helpful.

So are you suggesting the fanbase should blindly cheer for a product they pay for, no matter the end results?

Personally, I've never once in my years of owning season tickets and supporting LSU considered it such a cold, business transaction as this. this reads like being a stockholder, and not like supporting the program you love. I see your point, I just don't really quantify my fandom in such a manner. That aside, given the unprecedented success the program has had for the past decade, I'm not exactly sure what any reasonable fan would feel the need to get all up in arms about. Sort or reads like, "My wallet's too small for my $100's and my diamond shoes are too tight!!"

quote:

They didn't do so for Lee in 2008 or Marcus Randall in 2004.

Fans are idiots...I agree.

quote:

Miles is paid a lot of money to WIN at lsu and that is the bottom line.

Has he not done that, in an unprecedented manner? Complaining about Miles and suggesting it has to do with winning only leads one to suggesting that IF he had done something differently he could be even MORE successful. That always rings hollow to me.

I don't recall Includes The Right To Boo being printed on any of my tickets.

I believe its more the time we live in. The polical landscape is the most divided I've ever seen and I'm 58 years old. It seems like everything is about divide and conquer, who can get the upper hand in an argument. Sad commentary, I believe the moral fiber is being tested to its greatest extent. I hope are country survives. Sorry for the polical spin, but everything from football, economy and morals all lead back to Washington.

In the last 10 years, it has become more of a business with serious discussion of paying players and coaches making as much as 5 million a year.

The game has changed, and yes it has become a business.

2008 & 2009 win totals did not match his pay and the way he has handled the QB situation is appauling. What people are afraid of is a repeat in the handling the QB situation, tainting what appeared to be a GREAT season for us.

Do you need a college footbal ticket to explain your rights to you?

I don't go around booing my displeasure and would never consider it a right. Is this your normal way of voicing dissapointment?
If I've had enough of you, I'll let you know in another fashion, usually in a more private setting.
Booing is cowardly, mob mentality, imo.
Maybe you think it's cool, but LSU disagrees.

To everyone standing up for their "right to boo," may I suggest that you exercise your "right to go frick yourself."

At what point did I say something to convince you that I boo?

I am just stating that your comment makes no sense. Whether or not you like it, the fan does have a right to boo at any venue and the right does not need to be spelled out on their ticket.

With that said I do not boo players and do not condone it.

No one in this post ever stood up for their right to boo. It's actually been said a number of times they didn't agree with boooing. The right I feel I have is I don't have to agree with all decisions made, but that doesn't mean I'm not supportive. I never stated a right to booo, and I'm pretty sure no one in this post has.

By the way 90% or reply's to this post missed the initial point.

Actually, I did.

There are a lot of rights people have that I don't neccessarily agree with or that I find to be wrong, but it does not change the fact that it is a right.

I don't agree with the booing and do not boo, but to suggest someone doesn't have the right to boo if they please is comical

This is the equivalent to starting a thread about a dead horse and noting that most people said it stinks when you wanted to talk about making jello from the hooves.

Of the people who booed, the majority were booing JJ. This notion that they were booing "the decision" is preposterous.

Face it--the fan base fricked up. Apologize for being a bunch of douchebags, cheer for him v. Florida and all will be forgiven.

This is the part I really have a problem with. How about high school?
I go to quite a few HS ball games, and we all buy tickets.
Maybe the opponents have been booed a couple times for flagrant personal fouls but I don't know that I've ever heard anyone boo a member of their own team.
So why does this change? Size of the crowd? Tickets are more expensive? The kids, in many instances are maybe 1 year older?
How do you get from being a respectful fan in high school sports to a beligerent college booer?
Where does this right magically appear from?
They are not professionals.

I don't support booing, just stating that people do have the right whether or not anyone likes it.

Again I do not like the fact that people boo'd, but I agree you see it more at the college level.

Maybe there is more alcohol involved on the college level.

Maybe people are a little more forgiving with a coach who makes 50 grand a year vs. 5 million.

Expectations are higher and there is more on the line at the collegiate level.

Passion works both ways for our fanbase and with most in the SEC. We aren't the only fanbase that boos. And I am sure their fanbases are emabrrassed when it happens as well.

Comparing high-school game crowds to collegiate crowds is hard to do. Just different levels.
