Amazingly, people like you don't understand that this simply makes Miles more prone to criticism, when you are under performing.
What is the current salary that makes one so elite that he/she is immune to criticism, since it is obviously so important to you??? I don't see a correlation between income and speaking ability, unless one is employed in the public speaking profession

I dont know, me. I feel kinda " haunt " when I here da Coach talk so funny. In Eunice, we tink he gots lots of haaar under dat hat. By da way, my beer tastes the raunch. I told my kid to
"come see" and bring me another beer. Maybe we'll drive to Baton Rouge and go by Coach Miles house and I'll see if my kid wants to "get down". Comon , mon fils. Lets geaux.

Miles speaking doesn't bother me a bit.
Ranks pretty low on my list of concerns too. The other day on the SEC Rant, I asked other posters for examples of Shakesperean coaches—guys who could answer the question "How has the oil spill affected your special teams drills?" with a Gettysburg address that would brings tears to a dead man's eyes. Some responses:
• Vandy's new coach, whose turkey inseminator comments reminded me of the kind of lofty discourse we haven't heard since The Dukes of Hazzard went off the air
• Nick Saban— The guy who so movingly compared a loss to ULM to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor (words that will TRULY live in infamy if you yearn for coherent yammer from your football coach)
• Vince Dooley—Swell, the guy's got a law degree or something, and as we all know no one can talk like a lawyer (although making sense of what was said is another matter). Of course, Dooley also has a record of something like 12-47, but if you want a coach who can eloquently explain why he loses 4 out of every 5 games—well, here's your man.
The fact is there are very few first-class orators out there among the HC ranks. I don't mind people beating up Miles for his coaching, but when it comes to his public speaking—certainly, all you in the Thesaurus and Strunk & White crowd have more pressing things to do. Or, to put it more eloquently: it ain't no thang.

Income unfortunately in this world we live in is a marker of success. Not the only one by any means, but the point is his personal success eclipses most on this board. Coach Miles' success is unquestioned. He may have made some mistakes, but the people on this board who attack him as an idiot are comical. And as far as justifying his salary- I think he feels more accountable to the people who hired him and sign his checks. Do you go to the donut shop and tell a cop to get off his arse too? He's earned the right to correct the past missteps.

Miles makes 3.7 mil. How much do you maggots make? When you have the kind of job he does, then give him advice.
Just for the record, I happen to believe he's a bit overpaid.

And we get such gems from the bashers as "he talks in a retarded manor".
Yeah. Ok.
Yeah. Ok.

No one is denying his success, which is why he is paid what he is paid. Making 4 million doesn't make one immune to criticism however.

suggestions to les miles on speaking
One. Win games. Do this, and nobody will give a fiddler's frick on his supposed lack of polish in the public speaking world. Get real...did you watch every coach in the SEC media days? Les was NOT that bad, at all...let's see how this season plays out first...Jeez.......

Miles answers questions with the same thought process that a lawyer would use to type out a letter. He talks in circles. If you asked the man how to take a right, he'd come out with some shite like, "well, certainly I'd uhhhhh reverse my direction and have my body pointing to the left, uhhh get involved in a rotation to uhh another and end up in a direction pointing to the desired direction." - volume increasing as he gets farther into the answer with this crazy look in his face as though somewhere in the middle he makes the decision that it's something he'd better look like he was passionate about.

Who are you talking about?
Miles did get a natonal title or didn't anyone tell you?
Speak stupidly? Just because YOU don't understand it is the speaker who is stupid?
Now I want you to convince me that you have never never made any professional mistakes.
Now for you bashers who have become obsesssive with the way Miles speaks, I advise a warm bath, a glass of Tuscan wine and a sharp knife

Would you run the water for me?

I love the way Miles speaks and handles the media. He's not some stuffed suit and he's not trying to be anyone other than who he is. Why would we want him to change so that he sounds like everyone else.

U have those who do as in the case of LM and those who can't do as in the case of the wantabe coaches here but they want to tell those who do how it should be done.
The truth hurts, but the fact of the matter is that if any of us posting here had a clue as to how to coach at the SEC level with the results of a LM, we would be coaching somewhere and not shooting our mouths off here non-stop.
