irrelevent. 10-2 LSU that lost to Ark. 10-2 Ark that beat LSU. c'mon

Well it's not unheard of. In '05 a 10-2 LSU team was passed up by the Capital One Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Outback Bowl all to pick teams that had worse records, lower rankings, and had been beaten by LSU.

All bowls care about is money.

The Hogs will have to guarantee the purchase of the tickets to the Sugar Bowl or they wont be invited. The last trip they made to anything close was the Cap One Bowl and I will never forget the cameras panning the empty stadium.

Then we are screwed. No way Arkansas would guarantee to purchase the tickets to their FIRST EVER BCS BOWL.

And those mentioning Mizzou as an example you do realize Mizzou didn't get the bid because they were coming off a loss. Hmmmm which team does that sound like.

While Arkansas will certainly get the invite if Auburn wins IMO, the above statement is false and was confirmed to be false by the Sugar Bowl Committee Chairman.

LSU would be a bigger draw nationally- for tv and advertising and such.

The hillbillys, however- would be a bigger spark for the local economy-

I prefer LSU, because i am a fricking homer AND that would piss sooooo many people off

To compare LSU to Mizzou is like comparing King Kong to that monkey that masturbates at the zoo. Who gets to the Sugar shouldn't be an issue, but it is because we're LSU.

According to a player on the team, a representative from the Sugar Bowl was at the team's workout this morning.

WTF would they be doing that for? Isn't the chance of us going to the Sugar Bowl just slightly better than me convincing Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johansson to become my love slaves (and I hate to burst the bubble of all my ranter fans out there who live vicariously through me, but the chances of that aren't really good right now)?

ark gets picked because they are far enough away that they will need one or two nights in a hotel, and go to more restaurants.

LSU fans from South La. can drive to the game and be in their warm beds the same night if they want to.

LSU fans would still sellout hotels AND bring in more people just on gameday...the dome would be 50k LSU fans...no way arkansas brings 50k

FWIW, I think Arkie deserves the Sugar invite over LSU this year.

But did the Sugar Bowl reps really say this?

They knew the outcome of the SECCG ahead of time???

Damn, I want them picking my lotto tickets. The power ball's up to like 50+ mill.

I heard the dude on the news stating that the winner more than likely would go to the Sugar Bowl. He said if Auburn wins out we are in. Said in live on our news programs and on Bo Mattingly's show.

louisiana to invite LSU since the state has been supplimenting the game for the past few years ... they'd rather see the $4.5 million payout stay here than go back to arkansas

WHAT???

The money is split up by the SEC. LSU gets the same amount of money no matter who goes to the Sugar.

The ONLY reason the Sugar would take LSU over Ark would be the fact that Arkansas is horrible at traveling. LSU would bring more money to the city. People outside of Louisiana act like LSU fans live in NOLA or would drive in. LSU would fill more hotel rooms than Ark. Thats a fact.

The hotel argument is way overrated. From a pure revenue evaluation, the extra ticket sold to a local lsu fan ($150 avg) is worth more to the bowl than the tax revenue from 2 nights hotel room ($50-75) is to the city.

Still think arky goes. But not for economics sake.

There's no way Corndog goes to the Sugar instead of Arkansas. No way.
