LBs are our a achelies heel this year. That will come to show on November 5th.
Bamako runs vertical very well and they have not been able to stop a verticals running game very affective all year.

I admit UA was supposed to win the game last year. As said by coach Saban on many different occasions the team was never focused and lacked leadership. Coach saban has said on this team is that the leadership and never say die attitude is back. Yes it seems last year defense was better, but that is not the case. The DB's played young and inexperienced all year , and Dareus and Upshaw were hurt and never got healthy until leading yp to the Bowl Game. I will say if there is going to be a team to beat Alabama it will be LSU and vice versa, and if LSU wins I will pull for them on January 9th, 2012. I just believe Alabama has a more complete team than last year, and alot has to do with leadership and being more experinced. once again if Alabama loses i will scream Geaux tigers the rest of the year.
SEC! SEC! SEC! Will do vice versa if Bama wins.
There are a lot of ways to slice this bad boy but imo the key to the game is who can run the ball more consistently. Long story short. I can't wait for 11/05/11 but not until LSU enjoys the everyday process of Aubbie week beforehand(channeling my inner Nick Saban).

I don't think we were 300 lbs across the front last year and Alabama only got 102 yards.

LSU will not be able to stop UA running game. Alabama is sound up front, LSU will have to force 3rd and Longs so the D-line can be a factor. UA will do the majority of their passing on 1st and 2nd downs where they can use the playaction. UA will stop LSU's run and make the 1 dimensional, and LSU doesn't have the passing game to consistly beat UA through the air. UA 28- LSU 7
I would be worried if I were you. UA gave up 225 last year while only getting 102 against a defense that gave up 400 on the ground to Auburn. Are you that much improved at QB and RB, while LSU did not improve any at either position? I believe our RB stable is better this year than last. I also believe our QB play is more efficient this year. And our run defense is certainly better with the front 4 alone. Still have questions about the o-line which are now being answered, but we'll see once we line up. We still have the Chief and you still have Kirby Smart. You better find an answer for the deep ball.

LSU will do what is necessary to stop Alabama's running game, and LSU is quite capable of doing it. This will force a young McCarron to win the game for Alabama. He has never faced a really tough defense. LSU's defensive backfield will be on their own to stop the pass. There will be interceptions. Both of LSU's quarterbacks are seniors and have faced tough defenses before. The difference in the game will come at quarterback.
The two teams are similar to last year, except that Alabama has lost McElroy and Julio Jones. They are, consequently, relying on the running game. Take away the running game, and their weakness is exposed.

I doubt we can stop Bama's running game out of nickel.
We'll probably have to play 4-3 or 5-2.

I feel like this game will be like the one in 08 but McCarron in Lee's shoes

I think some of you need to learn what this "box" word means that you all throw around so much.
If you have a single wide 3 tights and the eye, guess what your gonna have a 8-9 man box every time. With a corner on the wideout shaded to the inside usually, safety over the top. Backside corner is technically in the box but his job is the tight end or running back on PA. He is in position for run support but rarely makes a tackle unless he blitzes and meets the back in the backfield.
90% of run plays for all teams are advantages in numbers for the D if the QB hands it off.
The only reason any version of a wildcat is successful is because the numbers are usually equal. Unless the runner poses no threat to ever pass. After a few plays the D will adjust and stop it. By stacking the "box".

Really? Well shite, why dont we just forfiet and concede the loss...... Dip shite Gump, go back in bed with your sister, our D will man up on the WR, force your young QB to make mistakes, and we do have the beef up front to plug the holes.. we will stunt and slant and take away any size advantage .... it will be a good game, but no way Bama shuts us down the way you suggest.
Also, got two words for ya that WILL BE a difference : Brad Wing

Stopping Alabama's run-game
When a guy without the ball wearing a red shirt blocks you, fight him off. Tackle the guy in the red shirt with the ball. Pretty simple.

UF backs could not reach the outside and edges on Alabama so im sure LSU's back will not either. LSU's best chance is to run up the middle, which is highly unlikely
