AJ is already passing him up and technically should still be in HS.

Rivers will never start a game, unless it's due to Injuries..
This big time he's very limited.

Cam will shine and polish Jennings up then allow him to tear up the league.

Both you and that Eye guy have been hitting the back up bong.

possibly, but in fairness jrevonte is about 1000 times more plugged in to what is going on than the rest of us

LSU needs a QB that can walk to the line, look at the defense and adjust as necessary. What is the fascination with a running qb? We have TE'S, WR's, RB's, and FB's that can do the running. We need someone smart enough to read the defense and set his offense. Most running qb's don't fit that mold.

Lol, most black QBs you mean?
AJ isn't a "runner". He's a pocket passer with excellent mobility, a very accurate arm, and by all accounts an extremely smart football player.
He is a better passer than Rivers already IMO and obviously more mobile. His release is great and all the camps when he was in HS talked about his accuracy which has been reflected in his short time at LSU.
My opinion is worthless, but I do think AJ is our starter next year. He will have 2 summers, 2 springs, and some PT this fall.

Having been at the Spring Game Rivers out shined AJ. Rivers looked cool, calm, and collective and played with his head. AJ tried to made plays that just weren't there. I'll take a smart player over someone that may or may not make the heroic play. Mauck and Flynn were just smart players. Bama shut down our play maker (TM) in the BCSCG, but you can't shut down a player's mind.

It's called dual threat. He has a rope with accuracy.. What is the fascination with a guy who is mobile? Watch a lot of college football??? They extend the play and make things happen.. If you got one guy who is just as good as the other and possibly better.. plus he can run.. why wouldn't you want that guy to play? And why do you simply assume because a guy can run that he can't play QB?

Exactly. It's pretty sad how every single black QB is now compared to JJ.. or like wise.. who was never even a good QB either way.. throwing or running.

Who said anything about "black"? I said I would rather a smart qb than one that runs first. LSU took care of A&M's running qb last year and last I checked he was not black. He doesn't need to extend the play, he needs to get rid of the ball to one of his teammates and let them extend the play.

I really would like to see Mett have a big year, then Rivers, then the younger guys can have at it after Rivers.
I think that order would be restored this way....
If Rivers goes off these next few years a narrative and connection will be made to his brother, someone who was also coached up by Coach Cam.
There is gold in that story that would actually have the potential to put LSU on top of the Elite QB scene for as long as Coach Cam remains here...
Rivers is the golden egg, he is the Key to LSU being able to recruit any QB, elite or not, in the nation...
Sorry guys, Freudian Slip

the fact that Rivers had the first team offense against a 3rd stringers and walk-ons vs. Jennings against the 1st D with a couple of walk-ons on the line might have had something to do with that. I was happy with the way Rivers looked though, also thought Jennings looked pretty composed given the situation.
