Do you think a freshman could come in to play C/RG? or do we go with a Dodd or Brumfield?

Hawkins, Pocic, and Alexander are starting, with Hawkins and Alexander on the left side IMO. Pocic is definitely good enough to be at RT, which would push Boutte inside to RG. I think Dodd would be fine at Center. The only swap I would make would be Pocic at Center, Boutte at RT, and Teuhema at RG, but I'm not sure if Teuhema would start over Clapp or Brumfield. I'll stick with my first lineup.

Something like this. Les has been quoted as saying they expect Hawkins and Alexander to man the T spots.

If that's the case then switch Pocic and Alexander on my list to basically resemble yours. I think Boutte has the best chance to start out of the rest of the players.

Boutte has the most experience out of all the non starters from last year.

He played in every game last season and in 8 games as a true freshman. And he's a very powerful and strong kid. Lael Collins said he's probably the strongest guy on the team last year. He's gonna be a very good OL for us.

Hawkins
Pocic
Dodd
Boutte or Brumfield
Alexander

Thing is our second team could potentially start and not see a huge dropoff. Malone has been a great surprise and the coaches love him, Teuhema, whoever doesn't start at RG, Clapp, Domond, Chidi, and Weathersby. It's pretty insane.

Yep... I'm really high on Malone as well.

Miles said something along the lines of "he's really good and deserving of playing time" last year. Just keeps getting better and better. And he comes from great stock. Karl Malone still looks like he could play 30mpg in the NBA

Our best group might actually be with Malone on the field and Pocic stays at Center. Not sure if Malone would play OT or OG, but he can play both.

That's 1 thing I really really like that we do... We cross train most of our OL at each OL spot. It helps a lot. It gets the better players on the field earlier and gets them experience and if an injury happens, we should be ok.

while CLM said Vadal would be a T, Dodd seems like he's ready to be the C and I wonder whether Pocic is more mobile and potential future LT, making him the better fit at RT. so, the only spot up for grabs after that would be RG. and Vadal on the left makes that side absolutely dominant.

I think it could look like this:
LT - Hawkins
LG - Vadal
C - Dodd
RG - Boutte?
RT - Pocic

Pocic is without a doubt the future at LT.

A lot of people have wondered why they are going to be moving Vadal back to OT and Pocic at OG. Only thing I could think of is that it could help Vadals draft stock maybe, and was a big selling point to get him to return to LSU instead of going to the draft

But Vadal was also a really good OT 2 seasons ago for us and knows how to play that spot. So I'm not worried about that. Its not like it's gonna hurt us. We have handful of really good and talented OL that can play just about any OL spot. Get the best 5 on the field, figure out positions later.

And I'm pretty confident that Boutte has the open OG spot locked up. He's going to be really good.

Hawkins, Alexander, and Pocic will start. I like Pocic better at G than C and haven't seen him play much at T. The other 2 spots and the next two in should really be competitive in the spring and fall camp. Malone, Dodd, Boutte, Brumfield, Clapp, and Domond will have a shot. Austin and the newcomers could get in the mix but it would surprise me. Potentially this is the deepest and most talented OL LSU has fielded.

How can Pocic be the future at LT with only 1 year left after this season? He may get 1 year at LT and I wouldn't bet on that. He's a good player so I'm not dogging him but I just think the " he's the future at LT" talk is nonsense now

Agree with this, but I really think Maea is going to push for one of the guard spots.
