No issues with starting Thompson at 3rd; but I don't at all get batting him 6th in the lineup if you are keeping Dugas in it.

I get that Dugas has struggled already, but he has proven power; so if he puts it together, then I'd want him up in the order from 8. Especially doesn't make sense when the bat is supposed to be considered the weak part of Thompson's game right now and why he wasn't getting the start to begin with this weekend.

Safford brought the average height below an acceptable level, so he had to be swapped out for Sanford.

Sanford had some swing and miss issues this past summer. Hoping it was a fluke. He showed some promise in his limited time last season.

True. Dugas, Doughty, Milazzo and probably Arnold as well would have had plenty of at bats in a full season last year. This team will be better in May than they will be in February/March when those guys plus the freshmen get 50+ at bats.
