Split national title

That is the only we can justify a rematch if it happens and Bama wins, otherwise, we are rewarding Alabama for not playing in the SEC title game and beating LSU only once to win the NC.
BTW, I think if a rematch occurs and Bama wins it will be looked at as a split.

If LSU demolishes Georgia, which we will, the AP will revolt against the BCS like in 03 and declare LSU the national champions.
The BCS title game will only be to take both trophies. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not a flame on my part.
But... all I hear from LSU fans now (after Bama beat Auburn just now) is talks of hypothetical losses/splits after possibly winning the SEC and going 13-0 makes us sound like huge pvssies and insecure. I really don't care if we play Bama again.
We will beat them again. Their special teams still suck and we play in the superdome.

uh, IF Bama gets into the title game with us regardless of the SECCG, the winner will win both titles.
I am not sure what about this season makes you think any different.
They aren't going to split it. The national media is dying to give Bama the title. shite they were still saying they were the better team 5 minutes after the first game was over.

First, there was no split with any team in 2003. LSU won the national championship. In the BCS Era, there are no split national championships.
Second, in 1996, Florida State beat Florida in the regular season. The two met again in the Sugar Bowl. Florida won, and as a result, won the national championship. There was no split.

First, you got the wrong year. 2003 was split, not 2004. Second, I never saw where the AP stripped anything. The BCS did; the AP hasn't to my knowledge.

I just said that is a matter of how people view it, not saying BCS will spit it. In this case, if Bama wins, in the minds of many, it is a split at best.

Look I am not saying it absolutely can't happen, but thinking they are going to split it is just delusional at this point.
shite most of the writers are saying Bama is better than us NOW, even with us being undefeated.
I think "most minds" actually see the first game as a push and a rematch is for all the marbles.
I just don't see a split.
