if you think those are designed sky kicks that give our coverage team an extra 5 seconds to run down then you are a very special breed of rantard.

It's a fact. We are not executing it as well as Miles would like but it is a fact that is what he wants to do.

And stop with the female kicker, she isn't going to ever play and doesn't have a stronger leg then Alleman.

How do you know? Link! Something. I will bring to the table what you have. She is able to kick it out of the endzone every time.... from the 20!

Hyperbole?

FG kicker is money which is a nice surprise after losing perhaps the best ever to graduation. And Wing looks to be an above average punter, just sucks he's hurt.

Kick coverage obviously needs to improve but I'm not overly concerned. The athletes we have running down the field should make up for the lack of distance on the kicks.

Return game is fine.

So yea, I can see why you say "Special Teams is garbage".

Special teams have been less than impressive. I've been wondering about them since preseason. I called into After Further Review a month or two ago and got laughed at when I said that I want to know progress on special teams.

New punter, new placekicker, new return guys, and a new ST coach.. There's a lot of learning to be done.

You telling me Matt Mascona thought he knew more than his callers?

I am sure he knows a lot more than 95% of his callers but dude things he is a CFB know all.

Well he didn't really laugh on air, he said it was something to watch, and that it's hard to judge special teams because the kickers generally practice by themselves and the media doesn't pay attention to the special team drills.. but the next day I heard a wisecrack between he and Lee feinzwog or w/e his name is about being concerned about special teams.

I think "special teams is garbage" is a helluva lot of drama. Outside of the kickoffs, the special teams have done ok, and in the Oregon game were very good. Kickoffs are pretty weak though.

I blame Moffit. He bulked our kickers up too much and they lost flexibility. We need to run him out of here on a rail!

I hope McGaughey can recruit, cause it sure looks like he he can't coach.
Didn't like the hire then and don't now. McGaughey was a weak arse hire in the D.J. McCarthy mold.

Let's see, let's hire the assistant special teams coach from an NFL team that finished near the bottom in Special Teams rankings. Why not go out and pluck the head ST coach from a Top Ten college team?

What happened to Bustle? At least he came from a school before the U.S.L. waste of time that was known for great special teams. (Virginia Tech) He would have been a much better pick imo and his overall BBQ technique is far superior.

Field goals were the only bright spot on special teams last night. We sucked in every phase other than that.

If we lose a game this year, it will be the result of the pi** poor kickoffs.

I can guarantee there is someone on that campus who can. They just might not be on the team.

Spc teams doesn't come together overnight. It takes a lot of practice and team chemistry - not dissimilar to defense or offense.

Given our athletes, I think we'll get there late this year.

This could be the thing that keeps us from winning a national championship.

Nothing else will.
