State of Texas and Fla are shutting down again due to huge coronavirus spike. College football will not start on time and may not happen at all.

Death rate has nothing to do with social distancing and quarantine. Death Rate is per positive test. In fact, the more we test , the lower that rate gets. The more we interact, the lower the rate gets.
You meant the number of deaths , not the rate. It definitely is a different virus, but no more dangerous to the population than the the worst flu ever.
