Jefferson is NOT the problem. He is talented and needs coaching. Miles, and whoever else from the coaching staff, need to go: and in that order. If a major coaching change isn't made this year, we will see our recruiting dry up and our program decline. Takes YEARS to get it back.

lee made far more mental mistakes than jj does.

They do, neither QB is good and if you think they are then you must only watch LSU football because smaller programs have better quarterbacks that are just as young.

The O-line has nothing to do with that, right? The dearth of slant routes and screens in the playcalling doesn't either, huh? Maybe we should just give up the pretense of trying to pass and run it every time. We shouldn't expect the o-line to block long enough for him to make accurate passes. That's just asking too much of 5 300lb guys.

It seems that some of you know a great deal about football, but you seem to be looking past the forest on this one. JJ's fine. His football IQ or whatever the hell will get better with instruction and experience.

I think he has "it". And those of you who don't think Jefferson has it tended to be the ones that thought JLee did (until he embarassed us against La Tech). And now you think Garrett, a three-star whom we've never seen play has these mystical "great mechanics" that I keep hearing about.

Well, we'll find out in two years. Until then, there are plenty of people who can go under the bus. JJ did alright last night.

Poor Tigers!
Jefferson can't read defenses and, although I admit I haven't watched every play, rarely if ever looks at any receiver other than the primary target.

Lets hope Chris Garrett is a real QB.

i hate you people. Jordan is a very good, though inexperienced, QB. its obvious he hasnt mastered the playbook yet, and thats why the offense is so much more basic than it was in 2007, but to say he isnt a leader is ignorant, maybe even racist. this was his worst game by a mile, everything was high because eh couldnt push off his back foot, and he still threw for 50 percent, 250yds, and 2 to 1 TD to INT.

obviously he takes too many sacks, but its out of caution, not because hes dumb. better a sack than a pick. and for the record, he's been sacked 28 times. that's not even top 10 for the NCAA (the miami of ohio guy has 50) and not even the most in the SEC (garcia has 33). jake locker has 23. tebow has 23. clausen and ryan mallet have 22. do they all suck too? are they too dumb to lead their teams too?

I think his biggest problem is not being coached right. The skills are there but he needs to be taught some things. They make him depend on the sidelines for the play after they've been set at the line. Making him do that causes him to not read it no his own and make good audibles on the fly.

I'm not saying he's McCoy material but with GC 'developing' him, he's doomed.

I'm a pretty temperate guy and I always shy away from insulting people, but I just can't comprehend the comments about Jefferson. I don't like to call people racist either. I can't look into another person's heart. Some of the comments sound an awful lot like stupidity, though. Has anyone even seen Garrett play at the college level. They're ready to dump a Sophomore QB with reasonably good stats for a 3-star freshman?

Oh well. It is LSU.

Yes you can. It's common football knowledge to know that you can't spike the ball with one second left. Despite being young, he should have realized this.

I agree that you can not spike the ball with one second left. However, that play never took place. Time ran out before the ball was snapped.

He's not the biggest problem with the team, but he's not the brightest star, either. His refusal to waste a pass attempt and get sacked instead has really hurt the team. Sure, the OL hasn't been a highlight, but a lot of his sacks haven't been their fault.

Are people even watching the games that make these comments about Jefferson being stupid?

He did very well for an injured qb. The td passes were great, and he managed the game for the most part.

The clock ran off the last second before he even got the spike off. People need to watch the replay again.

Once again, he's being told by his head coach to spike it. If he disobeys that order and runs a play and it doesn't work, he would be called a "thug" and "boneheaded" on here.

If it had worked, he'd be a genius/hero.

Stats ? No,I don't think he's trying to "pad" stats. But after 11 games he still holds on to the ball to long and won't get rid of it. How's that "attacking him" or being a 'negatiger' ?

So, you're saying that all the comments about Jefferson are racist and that all black football players at LSU should be immune from negative comments about their play?

I think all the comments are based on what we see on the football field, not on race.

What about all the negative comments concerning Jarrett Lee?.........

If lee had been in the same situation, and had done the exact thing Jefferson did, I think les miles would have thrown him under the bus as well fwiw.

Miles is quick to point the finger it seems.

There is no way in HELL JJ is the problem.

Note: I was supposed to be on a self imposed banned due to my temper after watching Miles LIE about the last play. But I had to step in on this.

JJ is doing great under the circumstances.

I agree with 2 views

1. He need more coaching. Correction, more PROPER coaching to get himself and this team to the next level. The talent and drive is there.

2. He takes too many sacks both because, A) He holds the ball to long probably because of B) Some out there playcalling.

And people calling for Garrett saying we wont win a national championship till he plays are INSANE. Has anybody seen him throw a pass? Played a live action game? Wow.

Oh and lastly.........Id take a sack over a pick 6 or dumb interception any day. Why? Because we at least have another shot at another play to make it right.
