Do they not sell Valium in Minnesota? Seriously. This game will not be close. Relax.

I had to laugh when I read this. That right there is funny! Thanks for the chuckle.

As you can probably guess, I have heard something similar directed at me more than once in the past.

sloppy fields have negatively impacted the Tigers in the past.

This is true, but means nothing when it comes to Saturday nights game. If anything the rain will negatively affect WVUs passing game. Worst comes to worst we just ground & pound their arse into submission.

Well, as long as a high school football tournament, another NCAA game, and frickING HORSE DRAWN WAGONS are not thrown out there between now and Saturday night - we should be aight, AIGHT!

This is what was so frustrating - it was a fricking BOWL GAME - that too CAPITAL ONE and they couldn't get a good surface done in time for the game. With the money at their disposal they could have done it that morning - cost us a bowl win/ not to mention a win against non-conf - especially Big 10.

LSU 2011 >> LSU 2009

I'm sure they can play in the rain.

Sorry, but wasn't Penn State playing on the same field? If anything the inept referees cost us the win.

Only thing I'm worried about because of the rain is the increased chance of us turning the ball over. I know WVU has the same problem, but our offense has to hold onto the ball as long as it can and not give away good field position.

ETA: And injury -- wet field increases the chances of an injury.

I have always felt that a wet field benefits a passing team. DB's tend to slip or fall down more often then WR's. Now the receivers will have a hard time catching the ball but if they do it could mean daylight. LSU for the most part will play man so this could be a real possibility.

When the fields wet IMHO im more concerned with fumbles not INT's....

Wet field negates speed, which we have

So, a wet field will make LSU slower but not WVU? Both teams play on the same filed, the faster team will still be faster wet or dry.

Doesn't it rain equally on both teams. Stop worrying! If it hurts anyone it is the team that has to pass more & is lighter.

Basically for WVU it comes down to this: If you can't run the ball on LSU, you're not going win, and well, frankly....you can't run the ball on LSU.

I was referring to the inept Capital Bowl organizers who used the field as a canvas for drawing dirt diagrams and crop circles.

When the playing conditions are altered due to a horrible field , then accidents and flukes come into play a bit more than normal.

I am merely trying to point that this issue contributed a bit more to the randomness and LSU was affected due to that ( could have equally gone the other way and Penn State too would have a valid argument then).

Also, from what Im checking on weather channel and all forecasts across the computer. As of now, they are only calling for 30 per cent of showers . I would take that in Louisiana any day. Who knows if it will even rain. I remember the game 2 years ago in Seattle. Everyone was so worried bout it raining and didnt happen. Not like here in Montana when you get a 50 per cent call for snow and you can take it to the bank, it will snow. Let's not fret about the weather till we are about 10 minutes before kick off and then let's see what the weather is like.

Remember the Oregon State game? Derek Anderson passed all over us for 3 Td's and our running game totally sucked. We still won, but barely.

Receivers know where they are going. DB's don't.

Running backs can't cut.

Defensive linemen lose their speed edge.

I no longer think the WVU game will be a blowout, but we will still win.
