All we know is she tweaked her knee nothing else has come out.
She was smiling after and she seemed fine walking on it in the dugout. I am very optimistic. Players have little tweaks all the time and they end up perfectly fine after a couple days of rest. I think we will be fine.

That is good to hear I didn't pay attention.

Random question, why does the ball always fly so far in Arizona?
Arizona is up 18-0 in the middle of the 3rd with 5 homeruns already and three doubles against Stanford

Howard got his work cut out for him. I dont blame him for bad choices the batters make, but Osorio was beaten by weaker teams this year. She was really good tonight, though, and the lady calling the pitches for Bama did a great job. Third game, i guess, we will see Osorio again, and we will do better.

I have my criticisms of Dobson but I think its a combination of the players and him. Its not just one but we badly need some major adjustments in the stance and the swing in quite a few of these young ladies bats. There are only three players starting right now that have a good swing. Jaquish, Landry, and Doyle (yes she striked out but some of her issues are pitch selection). The thing that made last years senior class so special at the plate was they all had beautiful compact swings. Thats also why you saw much bigger power numbers. I mean we have seen glimpses with Doyle, Springfield and Serrett but we might need to go above and beyond here.

I realize tonight's situation was desperate, but i could have told you that Springfield would have a rough time with a rise ball pitcher..that big loopy swing. I thought Satchell would be compact enough or at least have a better chance.. maybe Weinberger.. I would have put someone else in for Waljasper.
Maybe Howard is going to make the small adjusments now, and the total overhauls during the off season.

Se tweaked it diving back to 2nd against Miss St.

There won't be any rise balls for Littlejohn. Her pitch is a down screwball. Let's see if the girls can hit that.

Righties have little chance. You beat the rise ball with left hand hitters and speed. The rise ball is a fade not a cut to a lefty giving the LH hitter a huge advantage. Righties were over matched all night.
Hitting Springfield for Andrews was the worst possible match up and a poor decision.
Against a top flight rise ball pitcher you must limit your right hand match ups as much as possible.

I mean something is going to need to be done if we want to have any chance of making any kind of run in the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament. We will face some really good pitchers, while there is still time we need to do something, especially with Springfield. This team desperately needs power. I mean its great to sprinkle out a lot of singles but you really do need some power plays to put up more runs, especially against great teams. Its the reason we won the James Madison regional last year too.
Not trying to be debbie downer. Still a long season and we are in a great position in the SEC. I am just thinking long term this season and what is to come.

Quit signing slappers and sign some sluggers. A lot of teams are getting away from the slap mentality. Takes too many hits to score a run vs a bomb.

I was watching replays and watched Barnhill from Florida... she is amazing, and so fast that she's got the hitters chasing the riser with two strikes on them.
I saw Betsa pitching against someone, I cant remember who Michigan was playing, but that's another one with a bag of tricks, and she's got a good riseball and a drop.
I hope and pray we are ready when the regionals start.

I was at Arizona when we played there in the regionals 4 years ago. The dry air contributes a lot to home runs there, but also the field sits in a hole surrounded by a large hill behind home plate and along 1B line, plus a couple of large solid buildings just past RF fence and also past the hitting facility behind LF bleachers. That wind comes over the hill like a wind tunnel and blows out.
I remember sitting there for a couple of balls that we hit not happy because they looked to be routine fly balls and next thing you know, they cleared the fence. We hit a ton of home runs that weekend and Jaquish cleared the CF batters eye by 25-30 feet.
Plus Stanford is really bad.

Damn that was back when Corbello was leading the team as a freshman when Czechner was suspended If I am not mistaken. Damn time flies by quick

Your memory is correct. I found out about the pitcher not being there when I got to Tucson. On Saturday night we were an inning from being eliminated by Boston U and we rallied to score 8 or 9 runs in the top of the 7th.
That was the game when I got so nervous, I walked down to the end of the bleachers and wore my cowboy hat upside down and ESPN put me on tv. I was just trying anything to give us some good mojo... Amanda Scarborough identifying me by name, that I was a coach and drove out there from College Station and that I played golf out there the day before. Glad they didn't mention that I got so dehydrated the day before that the Arizona people had the EMS people examine me and almost rushed me to the hospital.
