Looks like I'll be getting rain all weekend here. At least it's supposed to warm up.

Wow! Just barely safe at first. Nice play by Serrett.
ETA: Replay shows it was a good call by the ump.

Looks like BR is still better off than me. I do live 3 states away, though.

Complete game shutout for Walljasper! Great day

Sunseri and Walljasper were tremendous today.
Walljasper makes it always look so easy. I expect another phenomenal year from her.
I was really impressed with Sunseri. I know Torina commented on this as well but Sunseri dealt with the smallest strike zone of the weekend, adjusted and finished with 5 scoreless innings. She worked out of small jams when she didn't have the call she wanted. As a true freshman, thats incredible way to open your career. It has to be a major confidence booster.
I like Schulte a lot, she has a lot of potential. I think Andrews split grip will help her continue to drive the ball a lot more and add more power. I think the most impressive hitter so far is Doyle. Stat sheet might not reflect it, but the ball has been screaming off her bat. With some wind, the balls she has drilled to center field have died right at the fence. Definitely think she can double her homerun numbers if she continues to work hard in practice.
Schlattman looked to be pressing today and yesterday. Once she settles down she can be a major asset.
Springfield and Schlattman both looked excellent at catcher so far this weekend.
hopefully we can find a way to play tomorrow. I am anxious to see Maribeth pitch and to see our hitters build.
I would also expect to see more Antoine and Sunseri at the plate.

In other news, former LSU pitcher Sydney Smith debuted her career for Minnesota yesterday.
Pitched 6 innings vs Southern Utah
Allowed 5 runs, 4 earns, on 9 hits

She was good for us in a #2 or #3 role but was never totally sold that she capable of being an ace in the SEC. She'll settle in fine though in the Big Ten.

I wish her well but she would develop so much more under Torina. Smith's issue always was that last punch out pitch.
It is what it is.
I really like what we saw from Sunseri.
UT-Arlington has been impressive this weekend
They defeated UMASS 4-1 earlier and beat Syracuse 1-0
What excites me the most about Sunseri is she is no where near what she is capable of. Very raw and still has a lot more pitches she and Torina are working on.
LSU very well can have a 4 pitcher stable this season.
