Softball 1st Base Preview

The 2022 LSU Softball roster has 10 players that are listed as infield.
I could see 2 of these women Gearing up to play 1st base this season.
Our most likely option is Raeleen Gutierrez and Georgia Clark. Last season both of these women Shared time in at 1st base when Sunseri was not pitching as Clark would play 1st base for around half time and Raeleen would play RF and 1st Base for a good amount of time. I wouldn't be surprised to see Raeleen be a permanent member at 1st base and To see Georgia go to 3rd base. I don't like this reason for 1 reason, I don't believe Georgia is good enough defensively to start at 3rd Base.
Both the bats of Georgia and Raeleen are great enough that we must keep them in the lineup. Georgia had batted .252 and had 32 RBI's. Georgia had hit 10 home runs. I'm expecting Georgia to hit around .280 and hit 12 Home runs. I am hoping for her to hit 50 RBIs.
For Raeleen, last year she had batted .250 and had 3 home runs. Raeleen had hit 18 RBIs. I am hoping for Raeleen to hit a little under.300, Raeleen's swing is one of the best on the team. I'm hoping for her to hit a little under 30 RBIs and maybe 8-9 home runs.
I am expecting to both be starting the for the tigers and hopefully, we can see a good amount of improvement this year.

I really don't see Georgia at 3rd. Doesn't seem like she has the chops defensively to keep up at the hot corner. I agree that both of those bats will be in the line up, but I just cannot envision Clark playing third.

Any chance Pleasants plays some 3b and coffee sees more action at SS?

This is what I am predicting but it truly depends on if Sunseri is pitching bc she will take the DH if not:
Briggs CF
Coffey 3B (info from 357)
Pleasants SS
Clark 1B
Sunseri P
Guiterrez RF
Pilon (redshirt freshman) 2B
Newland C
Stewart LF
Briggs CF
Coffey 3B (info from 357)
Pleasants SS
Clark 1B
Sunseri P
Guiterrez RF
Pilon (redshirt freshman) 2B
Newland C
Stewart LF

More likely to see Coffee at 3rd. Pleasants should not be moved IMHO.

Brandon and Redoutey will play a lot. LSU needs the bats
1B- Clark
2B- Pilon/Kennedi H
SS- Pleasants
3B- Coffey/ Perkins (Pilon an option)
C- Newland/ Cummins
OF- Briggs then a revolving door for the corner OF spots. Brandon was one of the better hitters this fall. I think she plays early and often. Redoutey is coming off knee injury

Can they play LF, RF or 3B seems like those are wide open positions? Well besides catcher but I don't think they are there.
