Because the other coaches are adjusting to LSU's hitters - especially Tori - it started at the end of last year. And, the transfers have not done much at all (except for a couple of HR's by Lorenz)
We can't hit non-conference pitchers, much less SEC pitchers. In the end, it is probably 50 percent players, 50 percent coaching.
The good news is that Heavener only walked one and only hit one batter. She gave up two HR's, but it is not like she was pitching to our lineup.

Played and coached. It's not that funny.

Then you know it’s players, when they are good it’s because they deserve the credit and when things go bad it’s also the players, you can’t have it both ways. Exact same coaching staff that coached the 2nd ranked offense in sec play last yr and 4th overall..In MLB when a player has a bad yr who is at fault ? Why is Lassiter and Daniel having great yrs? Is that on the coaches, we at LSU always want to blame coaches when reality in all sports players win or lose. Why was Joe B team the best ever ? Because they had him, Chase and Jefferson and others. No one can explain how the coaches were so elite last yr but suck this yr and yet they never swing

If it is all the players fault, then what is the use of paying college coaches millions of dollars? Just get a High School Coach that can recruit for 75,000 dollars and buy good players.
You brought up two players having good years. That is how it should be. Improving year to year.
What about the players regressing, "Edwards and Bergeron". What about the portal players that our coaches thought were going to be good offensively?

So this year we have to travel to ULL to get our butt kicked?
We already beat them at home with an amazing 2 runs vs. ULL's 1 run. But, yeah, we play them again in Lafayette, pretty soon.

I read another post on here from a dude that they did the research on portal players and it’s very hit and miss in yr 1…some with great numbers but others that were AA not so much..I do not know the inner workings of this team, did the 2 AA work as hard this yr? Do they feel the pressure of last yr? What I do know the coaches coach the same way every yr. I’m not a fan of Beth because of the lack of passion, energy from this team but she is a very good pitching coach! On Neal , he led the ACC in hitting at Louisville of all places and was top 5 in virtually every major category in LSU history in his first yr as hitting coach. Again, they were also 2nd in sec play in hitting so I give him the benefit of the doubt in the hitting dept. He has been successful every yr in his career but this yr so could be the players aren’t performing the same way?

We shall see at the end of the season. Yes, Bryce has been successful, but this "hitting slump" started at the end of last year.
I'm not saying, "Fire Bryce". I just think what he did this off season isn't working this year. Hopefully, he learns from it.
I say it's 50 percent coaching and 50 percent players performing. You say it is 100 percent on the players. That is not true. In the coaching ranks, you are "supposed" to say, "If we win, it's because of the players'. If we lose, it's because of me".
Of course, Coaches say that, but really don't believe it. It's just something they "should" say.

Bait! Where have you been?

I have no doubt Lane will have a good offense. He will adjust to anything.

He didn’t until the usc transfer got to ole miss

Oh I agree with you on who should take the blame from a coaches standpoint to the team but that’s different from the general public always saying it’s coaches all the time. As far as 50/50, I don’t know without knowing what the plans were, how much the kids work last summer or during Christmas break, what are the practice habits.. are they following the plan the coach laid out or are they doing their own thing? It’s hard to say without being in the building but just like I give Dobson credit for developing 8-10 AA hitters, it’s hard to tell who is at fault without being inside the program and know what’s going on.

In his first year, Ole Miss offense averaged OVER 500 yards per game. He has a 55 - 19 record at OLE MISS.
If we don't make the playoffs this year, it wont be because of the offense.
