You think it’s too early to tell Beloso that it is his spot to lose after tonight? Come on man. The writing is on the wall for Hughes

So what would your starting lineup be?

Anything to take Hal Hughes out of the lineup.

I’m with you there. I love the guy but it’s been too long with no production at this point

Beloso needs a spot at the table. He's only going to get better, and has the killer instinct that is needed.

Prolly cause he went to Curtis

Hughes needs to take a seat on the bench.

You just like it or are their players known for a killer instinct?

I agree with your lineup. I would give Dugas some looks at third with Bianco. Willis needs a couple games DHing to.

That certainly doesn't hurt one's passion for winning

As I said earlier in the thread, I just meant Bianco would be the first one to come in at third for Hughes. It’s a revolving door I think. If Dugas can out hit Bianco in rotation then by all means give him the spot

It's all about Bianco's ability to play third base. Of course this is our best offensive lineup. Of course Hal Hughes is a liability in the batting order. But if Bianco doesn't earn Mainieri's trust at third base, he isn't going to play it. Simple as that.

Absolutely. I was under the impression that Bianco was more than capable at third base. Someone in another thread sad he was a shortstop as well so I wouldn’t think adjusting to third would be too hard for him, but we will see

Any of the people that watched the scrimmages have any insight on Dugas’ bat?

Bianco 0-3 with 2 errors, 1 of which cost you 2 runs in the 7th, last night. I don't see him hitting the field again for a bit!

I'm afraid so, and it's too bad, because I love the kid.

Really? I only remember 1 error. Not to mention Broussard has already had a few mistakes and josh smith dropped a pop up. Opening night jitters are a real thing especially for a true freshman like Bianco. One of josh smith’s first plays at third a couple years ago he threw about 10 feet above the first baseman. Hal has a shorter leash for me because he already had a season to prove himself

I also felt he and Mathis had some really good at bats though

Paul is not shy about tinkering with the lineup as the season progresses. We’ve seen changes before, and we likely will this year too.

Geurilla* and apparently yes. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cabrera finishes with over 20 HRs this season
