I understand why they sit out. It is a lot of money at risk. I’ve went back and forth with my stance on this but I think it will also start hurting their draft stick in the future. As of now, the NFL seems to be ok with it but I think it will trend away from this behavior. Football is a team sport first and foremost.
I would also have a hard time drafting a player that skipped his final bowl game while healthy. Who wants a MLB that is scared he might get hurt in a game? Contract year and not in contention for the playoffs, would you trust them to give their all the rest of the year?
