Umm, Try to keep up yourself.

Where in those 3 quotes you listed did it say Burrow LOST the OSU QB competition?

Meyer said
quote:

"Joe and Dwayne are neck-and-neck"

Nowhere has it been reported that Meyer told Burrow he lost the competition. In fact Meyer's past history shows he often waits till after fall camp to decide.

Look at my screen name. I've followed the Buckeyes closely for decades and know a thing or two about them. Remember 2015, where it took him half a season to decide between Cardale Jones, and JT Barrett?

I'm now rooting for LSU, too, because I believe that Burrow will do good things, and I wish him and his new team well this year.

From the outside, it seems like Meyer is usually very non-committal about naming a starter until right before the season starts.

Brennan can go anywhere he wants!

Its crazy how delusional some of you guys are when it comes to Brennan. He hasn't showed anything worth drooling about since he arrived. He was arguably the 3rd best QB after the spring game. Hopefully he gains some weight, get better, and figures it out...but as of right now he's just another average 4-star QB that has come through LSU program.

How did you miss the meaning in the first 2 quotes?

1) Urban said he would tell Burrow and his family if he would be the opening game starter (probably because they were pressuring him). So that discussion did occur

2) The spring semester ended, and Joe left. Clearly he didn't hear the words, or get the feeling, that he would be the OSU starter. So he moved on. No one on the planet leaves the school they have been at for 3 years, if their coach is leading them to believe they will start

3) And on top of all that, not only did Joe feel he won't be the starter, Urban was also sending signals that he might have been #3, when he started throwing in the other QB into press conferences
