It was stolen by Auburn fans from Big 12 fan bases that used to refer to Nebraska fans as such (because they are the Cornhuskers.
They, along with the rest of the SEC found it so hysterical and fitting, that it stuck.
I think it's not necessarily that LSU fans dislike the name, but it's because we are just perplexed at how everyone else thinks it's so funny, that the other fanbases keep it up.
