Let me ask you this question. When it comes to educating yourself, and your children, why in the world would you accept anything less than the best? Especially when it is affordable? Not that LSU is a top 25 university nationally, but it is certainly the best that this state has to offer. And I'm only talking about state schools.
I've heard all the excuses.
"It's too big."
"It's too hard."
"X State has the major I am interested in."
F all that. It's LSU. You either go to LSU or you have a second rate college experience. I'm done.

Best shouldn't be judged overall, but rather by the area of study you're going into. LSU is not the best in some of these departments.
Some people also value better interaction with instructors and lower student:teacher ratios.

This may be an academic discussion, but I'm here to talk about LSU football. I hope people don't base their academic careers on who has better athletics.

Do you really think that every single LSU academic program is better than EVERY alternative program at EVERY school in the state?
Do you think that NONE of the other schools in the state offer a degree in a particular field NOT offered by LSU?
I know that LA Tech was the first school in the country to offer nano as an undergrad program a few years ago. I know Michigan has one now. I'm almost positive LSU doesn't. What if a kid wants to get into that field?

I graduated from ul with a bachelor's and graduated from lsu with a masters. I love lsu, like ul. I do remember a teacher taking my lsu hat off once in his class but he was an ole miss alumn. He talked about ole puss all the time so I wore that lsu hat to his class everytime. I got an a in the class. Never told me lsu is that way crap. But, did give me dirty looks for wearing that hat

LSU contends in all sports, they should, its the flagship
ULL contends in baseball and every 7-10 years does something good in football, who gives a shite let them have a good time, every dog deserves a bone every once in awhile

I am glad my friends that graduated from lsu law aren't as delusional as you....
I understand thats the way you feel... but man they best college experience is not why people go to school. FWIW, LSU is a great institution, but many of the students there are just as stupid as any other institution in the state. Its great in many things but not everything...

Don't get me started. There isn't a Louisiana university that hasn't given a degree to some moron. Whenever someone mouths off about their degree from a prestigious La. institution, there's usually some shady character that I can point to and say, "So did that guy."
