Less likely things have happened:

2003: LSU, USC, Oklahoma's number 3

2007: Pitt over WVU, etc

This would have an immediate positive effect on morale.
Plus, we get a new Mike immediately.
And, we replace the T33 with and A10.
And Arranda comes back.
And BDP is gone.
And Kiffin is the new OC.

LSU goes back in time and beats the 14 point underdog Florida at home.

Why would a 7-4 LSU be chosen over an 8-4 Auburn that LSU lost to or for that matter a 7-4 Florida (that LSU lost to) or even a 8-4 Tennessee. Would Auburn, Florida or Tennessee bring more money to New Orleans because their fans would be more lackly to stay in town an extended time?

I hope you are correct.

Auburn and Tenn would bring fans. UF would not.

Sugar Bowl would rather have LSU (BR to NO is an hour's drive), especially coming off a big win against A&M.

Also, Auburn and Tennessee (if they lose today) will be coming off soulcrushing losses. LSU would be more attractive in that regard alone. Also, LSU is probably the most attractive 7-4 team in the history of college football, considering the coaching change and fans viewing the first two losses being the product of having Les Miles as coach, not the product of the "new" Tiger team.

Simple folks where is LSU ranked in CFP polls vs. Auburn, Florida etc. Sugar would take the highest ranked.

Florida fans don't travel well. Tennessee's fans do, from what I've seen. If Tennessee gets the invite I'll be annoyed every time I hear "Rocky Top" in NOLA, but if Auburn loses badly enough, FlaSt. beats Florida and then loses again to Bama badly, after Bama anihilates Auburn, then do we have a shot? Probably not but we'll have to watch and see.

Even then, if Auburn plays Bama close today Auburn will still be ranked ahead of LSU and likely going to Nola

Not true, they want the hotel rooms packed and out of town money. Most LSU fans come in the night before the game or gameday. They'll likley choose Florida or Auburn.

But it goes by highest playoff ranking

Basically the only hold up will be Tennessee losing. The rest should happen

LSU fans bought up hotel rooms in 2001, 2003, 2006, and 2007. They will do the same in 2016. You would be surprised how many LSU Alumni hail from Houston.

Your time machine only needs to work for 5 seconds- just long enough to tell Guice the play. Make it happen.
