Lou makes alot of sthrong (spits at camera) points, his only problem is the Notre Dame Bias....

Kipers also the one who said LSu should of been preseason #1 because of winning the NC. Hes not a biased analyst, he says what he thinks and he thinks OU and USC are the more impressive teams of the top 10.

Woody Paige isn't bad, he's goofy but I don't see him as particularly biased. Now Bill Plaschke on the other hand is a major tool. He was claiming a day after USC's loss that they were still the second best team in the country.

Functionally yes they do... regular season is largely limited to 12 games... there is an exemption for conferences of 12 plus teams though that allows a championship game without everyone being limited to 11 regular season games
Besides IMO both a round robin (in which you play every team in teh conference) and a 12 team conference with a championship game are perfectly legitimate methods of determining a single conference champ per year.
The system that makes me want to pull my hair out is the big 10 system in which there is no round robin and everyone doesn't play each other in a given - that results in co-champs and situations in which the best two teams may not play each other

I understand that...but it is the constant selling of such without proof that gets me....
if USC was the best..that's OK.
but are they ? ..I do not know at this time....
they were the best ever when they played Oregon St.
...it is only the 5th or so week... lot of football left.

Despite what you may think, Lou Holtz's left nut knows more about football than you do. They guy has won and National Championship, nothing to frown upon. Give the guy a break when it comes to Notre Dame. He loves the school, so yeah he is irrational, but talking about every other team in the country the guy usually , and i stress usually, speaks the truth.
