How can we win a tie breaker against miss state and auburn? From what I've heard and read we will but I don't understand it. Please explain.

We can't win against both MSU and Auburn since they both beat us, that's why we need Auburn to finish 5-3. We can win a tiebreaker against MSU if we're in a 4-way tie with them, Ole Miss and Bama. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head against all other tied teams.

LSU 2-1 (beat Bama and Ole Miss, lost to Miss St)
Ole Miss 2-1 (beat Bama and MSU, lost to LSU)
Bama 1-2 (beat Miss St, lost to LSU and Ole Miss)
Miss St 1-2 (beat LSU, lost to Bama and Ole Miss)

That knocks out Bama and MSU, leaving only us and Ole Miss. Then it's just head-to-head against Ole Miss, and we win that.

I think you people need to realize that making it to Atlanta is a much more realistic and obtainable goal when referring to whom we should be rooting for.

To me, there's no "magical equation" for LSU, this is not our year to feed at the championship trough. From here on out it's about win the games we have left & let the chips fall where they may. Having said that, GEAUX TO HELL OLE MISS, I want to see those weeble-tards crushed & have to sit back & watch MSU win a SEC title & play for the NC.

2007 was even more unlikely than this. That said, I'll root for who I have to in order to get us to Atlanta, but I'm for MSU as soon as we're knocked out.

You forgot to mention OM needs to lose to Bama. You flipped that one

OM already beat Bama. They do need another loss, and this scenario projects it to be to Auburn.

You mean Auburn this weekend. This is when OM gets their second loss and subsequently wins out. A 6-2 LSU and a 6-2 OM means LSU wins the tiebreaker.

ETA: We can't win a tiebreaker with Auburn. Auburn needs three losses. They already have one. It is very feasible they can get their next two losses on the road from Georgia and Bama. But we need Auburn to beat OM this weekend, then for OM to win out.

I frankly want Ole Myth to go 7-5 if at all possible. We are not going to the playoffs regardless so why bother cheering for such an intolerable fan base.

Nope. Never.
FWIW, I'd like Alabama and Ole Miss to never win another game.

It's crazy how many things need to happen in order for LSU to win the west, but also how realistic it is. I can't look ahead too far though. Alabama is going to be just as tough a challenge as Ole Miss...probably tougher because they will run the football between the tackles. I still believe that the way we get beat this year is to run directly at us...Ole Miss tried too many stretch plays. Here's to hoping we can dominate LOS...again next week
