He won 11 games this year with a poorly run offense (OC) and no QB; that is pretty amazing in my book. Not to mention, what benefit would it be to hate him, now that he signed a new 7 year contract?? He has proved his ability to recruit with the best of the best, I say the future looks bright for now..

What problems aren't being addressed? Our offense and QB was our problem the last few years. We are bringing in a new OC and stud QB. Combine that with coming off an 11-2 season, a ton of playmakers returning, and a stellar recruiting class, how can anyone be upset at our fans for being optimistic.

How many other teams playing in the SEC have enough consistences to go 12-1 or 13-1 other than maybe Alabama which is starting a new Quarterback?

Our chances are as good as anybody's in the Country, except for the small thing of probably have the hardest schedule.

If Miles pulls 12-1 next year he should be coach of the year, because we're not going to be able to take any games off and that's hard to get the kids up week after week.

i said this earlier in the thread but i think it deserves repeating...

because he hates Miles....so he's scared that if he comes off as positive or says anything positive about the team it may be misunderstood as him supporting Miles.

LSU was 11-2 and ranked #8 in the nation.

We return 75-80% of our starters, we had a number of Fr who played well and should play even better in the coming season, and have a highly ranked Fr class coming in with a highly rated Juco QB.

We have a HC with 11 wins in 4 of his 6 seasons and 4 Top 8 ranked teams in 6 years.

We do have a very tough schedule facing us, but if you can't see what appears to be a lot of good signs staring you in the face for LSU football... perhaps you are the "delusional" one or getting a head start on your doom and gloom approach to life and LSU football.

1. Continuing clock/game management problems (which we were assured those problems were addressed after last season).

2. Ranked below 90th in total offense two years in a row (I understand we have a new coordinator, but do you really think Miles is going to hand it over to the new guy without having his input in it to a large degree).

3. We were three plays away from being a 7-5 football team. BTW none of the three teams that we escaped were anything special. Being good and getting a little luck is one thing, but having to rely on a dropped pass, a bizzare series (where our players had no clue what do with 15 seconds left on the clock...again), and [edit]a lucky bounce on a fake FG to beat three mediocre teams is not the sign of a consistent team that "got the right breaks."

4. Complete lack of identity on offense. We can't figure out if we are spread option team or power team. I know Crowton's philosophy, so the identity crisis was not completely on his shoulders.

5. We have failed to develop a QB...any QB...for three years now. While Jefferson looked strong at the end of the year, still don't think he is good enough to get through an SEC schedule at 12-1 or 13-0.

I hope I am wrong and we go 13-0, but I don't expect that to happen because I haven't seen anything to indicate that is likely to happen. Miles turning down Michigan doesn't correct the problems that have been here since his first game in TS. There seems to be delusion that we will hire a new OC, and that will cure all of our problems.

Some good points tup, as soon as LM has another brain fart and loses a game we should have won these folks will be hard to find. We have the talent to win a NC next year but I'm sure LM will get in the way, I hope I'm wrong.

P.S. All of this love is over a man who hasn't taken a team entirely composed of his own players to Atlanta for the SEC Title Game.

You do realize that that would only include this year's and last year's teams?

The only two coaches in the SEC that have done that with their current teams are Richt and Spurrier.

Well, since we haven't gone undefeated in 50 years, I have to agree with you.

Since we have gone 62-17 "since his first game in TS", I can only hope those "problems" equate to another 62-17, but I understand that others feel differently...each to our own.

Wouldn't you say that the ending of this years Florida game has addressed this problem?

Ok so you want a higher RANKED offense rather than one that wins games? Like Tulane's? Maybe Pitt's? Oh oh I know Kentucky. Yeah let's trade victories for some empty RANKING.

Wow you are soooooooo right. I mean we are just a few plays from going 0-12. Yeah that's it. The opponents were just lucky to beat LSU. If LSU hadn't outscored them they would have won. LSU won on pure luck because every game hinges on luck.

What is this "identy" bull crap? let me guess you have been listening to ESPN. You got to have an ESPN 'identity" to win football games? Since when?
When did this "identity" thing matter? "Identity" over victories?

How many games has Jefferson won in his career? None I guess since LSU only wins through luck, right?

No you don't. You sit there like some internet buzzard waiting for LSU to lose so you can swoop down and spread more of your crap.

Well that's a relief.

Yeah winning almost 80% of his games is really bad, huh? Hell dude you can't get 80% of the burgers you flip right.

Not to mention the delusion that LSU's football program is headed into the dumper and taking your negatardoes along with it.

Seriously. Get a life.

Positigers are gonna be the death of Miles career and they don't even know it. The expectations they have are setting up for a National Title or bust. Their expectations for Mettenberger are ridiculous as well. Mettenberger is billed as the savior of the program. I am trying to be fair to Miles and Mett and have realistic expectations for them. I want to give Mett some time to learn and Les (a coach who has never had a 0 or 1 loss season) a lower bar in a West/SEC Title. If a National Title happens great, but I don't expect it like a Positiger/Posimiles.

Except for the Elian Gonzales pic. Of everything you could have chosen on Google Images, why would you select something so treacherous? That's gay.

What has happened to this board? Was it the Cotton Bowl? I never thought a good bowl win over an average team would cause everyone to become so delusional.
I think blowout over a very good team made people on this board Les(s) delusional about LSU's accomplishments this season.
