Cobi Hamilton Arkansas. Y'all probably best remember him best by "mr. 6 second touchdown".

3* baby.

Nice call. So now you're going to only recruit 3star talent right?

Seems that is what Petrino is doing (i'd rather get 5* personally). I think he just goes after who will best fit in the pro-style system that we can get to come to Fayetteville.

RS had a much higher percentage of his teams offense than Hamilton did....

Really? Let's look at the facts:

-Cobi (09 fresh) = 339 yards/5558 total yards= 6.1%
-Shep (09 fresh) = 311 yards/3959 total yards= 7.8%

-Cobi (10 soph) = 630 yards/6273 total yards= 10.04%
-Shep (10 soph) = 480 yards/4461 total yards = 10.7%

In all:

RS = 2 years. 5 total TDs on 115 touches (rushes & catches)

Cobi = 2 years. 9 total TDs on 52 touches (rushes & catches)

Personally, IMHO (and I think of some tiger fans as well), Russell Shepard has not lived up to his 5* label (-based only on on-field production)

And that's your problem as well as the jackoffs who expect so much from every single highschool recruit that comes here. Why wouldn't you just say Cobi was a fricking steal, has overachieved and has developed into a great player? To this point, no one has shown me that RS hasn't lived up to the expectations of people who know what they're talking about. Cobi has met and exceeded expectations of you, Petrino, and apparantly RIVALS. I've asked for 5 examples and you're the first person to give facts. You still only provided 1. I'm getting off this cause my point has been made, but why wouldn't you assume you got a diamond in the rough rather than the old "well the 5star guys were over-rated?"

shep's career took a major hit when he moved to wr after his freshman year

if he does it coming in and focuses on it from the beginning we would see him putting up a lot better stats
instead holding out to possibly play qb for that year set him behind the curve

i personally believe the percy harvin comparison is a good one, and that means we should line him up in different places (not just in the slot)
he also ran the wild tiger pretty good his freshman year, but crowton stopped running the formation

get the ball to the guy in space and let his athleticism work, then we will see what the guy is made of

he has not lived up to our expectations but...
- said expectations were extremely high
- he hasnt really been in a role that he is comfortable with/plays to his skill set

i think we will see him meet these expectations this year

Because I look at what most of the other 5* have done by their end of sophomore year (Mallett [production Im talking about here - not championships], Tebow, Stafford, Percy Harvin, AJ Green, etc)

These guys had made a name for themselves (aka game changer) by their second year. That is all.

And on the "diamond in the ruff" talk = no one gives a damn on here what other team's fans think. So why bother.

how were they underrated? most people thought of them as having the best group in the conference

Well, I can see that now. What I meant to say was "underrated" - our WR corp for the most part is made up of 3*

5 things influence productivity, IMHO

1) players ability
2) players work ethic
3)opportunity to play
4) proper useage of players ability
5) coaching

I think that with Shep 1,2,3 are covered well. The only question has been 4 and 5. With Krag for the next 2 years, I fully expect Shep to contribute a lot more.

I guess I could add QB play as being a major influence on the productivity of any receiver, and I think that will improve with Krag as well.

Shep bleed P&G and I want him to succeed!!
